The only thing that I do not understand is how will they cater to LTSC crowd. So they are going to build a new UI and a tool like Server Manager to customize or force all of them to use Group Policy and other Administrative tools directly ? I don't expect anything good with M$, they are a trash company the fact that how they abandoned Win7 despite being working on latest HW with no issues and even much faster than better than 10 except the challenging part of getting it installed, that speaks a lot. As we all know they fired Windows chief 3 years back (2018) and now it's under Surface trash garbage team (2020) who use Macbook junk and force the same ideology of dumb and dumber and dumbing down all the younger generation with soldered, glued down, planned obsolescene, spyware, useless products with sugarcoat like Apple products. Probably will have to wait and see how new LTSC holds up, adding Intel's idiotic Biglittle trash, I expect it to meltdown when Alderlake launches.
Note that LTSC RS5 is released in 2019 when Windows developers had no direction or organizational coherence. Now it will be made by that same Surface trash team, I really wonder how do those veteran NTKernel and other teams at Microsoft even think. Perhaps most of them are too old and left and replaced by the brainwashed yesman programmers. Makes a LOT of sense when we see UWP trash infestation going to sky high levels with that horrible DRM Xbox gamepass which even Desktop PC guys use, it has no modding, no filesystem control, no user control of data, no registry control, .exes wrapped and hidden, always OL DRM, Xbox Live DRM system, GaaS DRM / Service, OS level mandatory min spec due to Xbox DRM, no monitoring support (it has through that Xbox bloat gamebar and same with modding) to make it worse DCH drivers and telemetry. Their backwards compat is the only good thing coming out of that Xbox console to preserve good games since, ironically they killed a lot of good IPs Age of Empires, Halo, Gears of War.
Don't forget how unusable the new design is rounded kiddo OS and shows zero respect to human intellect in UX functions+quality as we notice insane lack of explorative options and even functionality itself, I remember during 98, XP & Vista days I always fiddled around with Start menu to find things out which is what kept me going all these years, and still does. Wish people stuck to Windows 7 despite the catapulting propaganda of M$ nagware and fearmongering to downgrade, using 8.1 since 5 years+.
Remember this ? (Win10 beating 7) - notice the tagline, just a year before official support ends LMAO, with the latest HW it just works and does much much better than Win10 and still gets non-spyware updates through community help.
Never experienced any sort of BS issue related to Windows. Rock Stable and to shock many It boots way faster and operates super fast over Win7 installation on the same HW (Win8.1 NTKernel upgrades can be really seen), while the latest and greatest HW among the Desktop users and latest $3000 products have infinite issues..even DX12 was a failure.
It's just very sad how M$ is ruining the fundamental concept of a Computer and an Operating system. All for money and power, such ill intent and sinister thinking only Apple and Microsoft have now joining them is Google.

Microsoft is building a new app store for Windows 10 in major revitalization effort
Since most of the PC userbase get their Win32 applications from their usual sources, and nobody is too dumb to rely on that crap store., they might integrate Xbox Gamebar and other Xbloat trash into it and make it palatable for people to jump on it. Remember their aim is to remove Win32 so that they can control entire PC. DCH is already doing it, next gen will bring UEFI only and more, like that Pluton chip nonsense etc.

Microsoft Autoruns is crashing when listing Windows 10 startups bleepingcomputers.com | Today
A recent update to Microsoft's Sysinternals Autoruns program is causing the program to crash as its scans for autostarts in Windows.
For those not familiar with Autoruns, it is a free utility from Microsoft that enumerates all the programs that automatically start on a Windows machine. You can then review this list to remove unnecessary startups, so your computer to run more efficiently by reducing CPU usage and memory consumption.
After Microsoft released Autoruns v13.99 today, users began to report that the program crashes soon after it starts and enumerates the Windows startups.
In tests conducted by BleepingComputer, when we start Autoruns, it will begin scanning Windows 10 for autoruns and then crash a few seconds later.
However, on Windows 7, Autoruns works properly and does not crash, so this appears to be a conflict with Windows 10.
BleepingComputer has reached out to Microsoft to see if they know about the problems and when a fix will be released.Last edited: Apr 21, 2021Ashtrix, Spartan@HIDevolution and Vasudev like this. -

NVIDIA staff suggests rolling back Windows 10 update to fix game issues bleepingcomputers.com | Today
An NVIDIA staff member has suggested users roll back to an earlier version of Windows 10 to resolve gameplay issues on devices using NVIDIA GPUs.
As first reported by WindowsLatest, in response to these complaints, an NVIDIA staff member suggested rolling back from March 2021's optional KB5000842 preview update to resolve the issues. KB5000842 contains the same Windows 10 changes as of April's KB5001330 update but without the security fixes.
"If you are seeing lower performance in games, check if rolling back Windows 10 Update KB5000842 solves the issue," an NVIDIA staff member commented in the NVIDIA forums.
To roll back from April's updates, users would need to uninstall KB5001330 and revert to March's Windows 10 KB5000802 Patch Tuesday update.
As April's Windows 10 KB5001330 update fixes over 100 security vulnerabilities, including actively exploited and publicly disclosed vulnerabilities, it is strongly advised that users not uninstall this update.
Microsoft will be releasing a new preview cumulative update today or tomorrow, and users can try installing that first to see if it resolves the gaming issues.
If not, it is strongly suggested that users try the latest graphics drivers or possibly even rolling back to older GPU drivers before even contemplating uninstalling security updates.
Microsoft is more interested in add in more features than fix their broken QC and shady parches filled with more telemetry.... Of course it will be like this when they put all resources on the wrong things.

Windows 10 KB5001330: Microsoft issues emergency fix for performance issues windowslatest.com - April 24, 2021
Windows 10 appears to be getting a new server-side update and it’s one that you might want to apply if you've been having any kind of performance issues, such as stuttering, flickering or text rendering issues when playing certain games.
The server-side update is gradually rolling out this weekend and you won’t see anything when you check for updates. Some affected users told us that their games are running smoothly after they checked for updates and restarted the system manually.
If you think the fix is not available for you, try launching the Settings app and manually check for updates. You don’t have to apply any updates from the Windows Updates. Once you’ve checked for updates and your device has communicated with the Windows Update server, you’ll need to restart the device.
Unfortunately, this patch is entirely cloud-based so it can’t be verified by comparing the OS version or build numbers. However, you can play those affected games and manually verify the difference.
If you can’t wait for the fix, you can always uninstall Windows 10 updates manually with Command Prompt and PowerShell.Spartan@HIDevolution and Vasudev like this. -

Microsoft drops Windows 10X before it ever launched
By Mary Jo Foley for All About Microsoft | May 7, 2021 -- 13:51 GMT (06:51 PDT) | Topic: Windows 10
Windows 10X is likely not ever coming to market. Instead, Microsoft is putting its efforts into the 'new Windows' it is building around the 'Sun Valley' interface, according to a new report.
Microsoft is still expected to field a "new" Windows variant later this year when it rolls out Windows 10 with a refreshed UX. ( That UX is codenamed Sun Valley.) Given that some of the interface elements for Sun Valley seem to be similar to what was expected with Windows 10X, based on various leaks, perhaps Microsoft will simply look to the new Windows refresh as the best way it can take on Chrome OS.
