Thanks for the Links! Is this RS4 without bloatware or not yet? Making sure I don't have to reformat later this year lol I see that Cortana has gotten smarter too... I hate fighting with her lol

that's just a regular ISO and it's ancient now! do NOT install it. The latest ISO now is this:

    17127.1.180318-0047.RS4_RELEASE_CLIENTPRO_OEMRET_X64FRE_EN-US.ISO

You really don't wanna waste time on this as we are expecting the final RTM version any time now

Also, please note, that Phoenix no longer makes a bloatware free version, he just gets early access to the official releases before most people. :)

@Phoenix really wish you did not delete the first post of your thread you closed with the software updates, I always used that as reference guide, I never even used to download stuff, I just would google what I wanted to download... but your list always reminded me of stuff I would forget.

Oh ok so I might as well just down load it from windows updates yes? They keep trying to push this HUGE update on me anyway and I keep delaying it with Win10 Shutup... Thank you for your reply :)

Well at this point, you might as well wait for the Redstone 4, that big update is probably just Redstone 3. and Redstone is literally almost here, so I would just wait for Phoenix's Redstone 4 Final link he is posting soon, and just do a clean install with that.

I'm sure Phoenix will provide both. Maybe only Pro though if it ends up being only one. Pretty sure he runs Pro.

Of course. The Micro$haft Morons OS engineers have more than enough with pushing out all sorts of garbage patches several times a month :D In hope some of they work

More Windows patches — and warnings about the Win10 1709 update KB 4089848-Computerworld.com
On Thursday Microsoft released new cumulative updates for all Win10 versions, a couple of Servicing Stack updates, two previews of monthly rollups, a refreshed Windows Update cracker — and absolutely nothing that fixes the flaws in this month’s botched Win7 patch.

“Hey, Cortana.” (Pause.) “Is my PC working yet?”

It’s getting to the point that patches come flying out of Microsoft on any odd day. On most odd days, for that matter. Yesterday, Thursday, was no exception. On March 22 we saw all of these new patches:

I just wish Microsoft would speak plainly. In this case, some Win10 users (not sure which ones) are getting a patch that (apparently?) breaks their wuauserv Windows Update server settings. I assume that its entire reason for existence is to push more people onto the next version of Win10.

When did Microsoft become the enemy?

Funny you mention UB. I'm trying it out too. I'm basically in the same boat - why does Linux have to make something as simple as mapping a network drive such a PITA.

There's still no escaping the MS madness yet.

You know, to be honest, when I first stumbled across this site I thought all the complaining about Win 10 was kind of like a bunch of grumpy old men yelling at the MS kids to stay the hell off their lawns. I didn't exactly have the hate for Win 10. Didn't bother me what it looked like. Phoenix had a nice simple routine to kill the unwanted crap. Man has that changed. Back then I was young and naive, running a "pre-update" version of 10. Once the first update hit me (anniversary update IIRC) s--t went downhill fast. Unfortunately - looking at the settings Phoenix linked - it looks like it just keeps gaining speed

Yeah, when I went to install Ubuntu Budgie, I mounted it with Rufus with proper settings... I figured it would be simple, install... and about 60% in it says root drive sdb or some crap not found... I said screw it. I just don't even care anymore what M$ knows about me anymore

Windows 10 build 17133 is now going through internal testing. The new Windows 10 build 17133 (10.0.17133.1) was compiled on March 23, 2018. There are reports that this build will roll out to insiders as the final Windows 10 Spring Creators Update.

Here is all the updates for Windows 10 version 1709
    KB4089848 (OS Build 16299.334)
    KB4088776 (OS Build 16299.309)
    KB4090912 (OS Build 15254.313)
    KB4090913 (OS Build 16299.251)
Start from bottom (OS Build 16299.251) and see if it will install. Click each build and you find the Microsoft Update Catalog standalone package in the bottom of the page. Read info for each builds.
Or try Windows Update troubleshooter, KB 10164

Edit. But I think we stop here. We shouldn' hijack Phoenix beloved Windows 10 Redstone 4 thread. He can or will be angry, you know

I tried them all except 12 cus its not in library. They are all failed even after a restart after each one attempted though it appeared they worked until I checked installed updates.
I tried troubleshooter too... I am really perplexed here... This is a brand new install too. I had some updates work fine yesterday.

Turn off ShutupTen in or apply "recommended settings" only, reboot your PC, then install the updates, then reboot, then ShutUpten Apply All again, and reboot again, thats how I do it anyway every time there is a new update lol

"Microsoft will want as many Insiders as possible testing the RTM build of the Spring Creators Update, before moving on to Redstone 5." And where is Micro$haft's own payd testers in this? Rely on all types unpaid GP's outside Redomond HQ to save $$$ o_O Yeah, telemetry is a must if you try to save save a few bucks  And Privacy out the window.

That is only for workstation versions of the OS I think. Would be neat though if we got it combined with a "Gaming OS" variant... we can dream I guess. M$ really is annoying these days though, I really can't stand it.
