You're better off with WSUS. WU checks for updates automagically on every Patch Tuesday since they're hard coded based on every region. In India they begin checking Late night 10-11pm or early morning between 6-8am.jaybee83, Aroc and 6.|THE|1|BOSS|.9 like this.

Windows Defender has update hiccup again (30.1.)
Published on January 30, 2019 by Günter Born
Small water level message for users of the Windows Defender who are constantly checking under the hood to see if the part is still working. It seems to me that it stutters again in the engine room and updates are no longer loaded.

I never update WD defs everyday instead I do it bi-weekly and if there's any issue I'll reset WD defs to None and WD platform update to its default version.

This update was pulled. Please do not post beta updates for the public.

Does "much more" includes support for Hyper-V? I tried to install Docker and one of the features requires Hyper-V to work, and both letting Docker enabling it and doing it manually results in Windows reporting failure and rollback the changes after a few reboots
-
You can check Enable or disable Program features
By default Hyper V is disabled and IMO, you're better off installing Docker and test Image under Linux. In windows 10 every update might break your environment -
Of course it was pulled. They prefer to give Push it out as a surprise
Everything coming from Redmond HQ is Beta!!!!!!!!!

- Fixes an issue where the value of LmCompatibilityLevel was not set correctly. LmCompatibilityLevel specifies the authentication mode and the session security.
- Fixes a problem that can prevent the opening of applications that use a Microsoft Jet database with the Microsoft Access 97 file format. This issue occurs if the database has column names greater than 32 characters. The database does not open with the error "Unrecognized Database Format".
- Fixes an issue where logon for Windows Hello for Business Hybrid Key Trust deployment fails when using Windows 2019 Server Domain Controller (DC) for authentication. The error is: "This option is temporarily unavailable. Please use another method for the time being to log in. " When Active Directory (AD) activity tracking is enabled, an exception from the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) may occur when processing a user's login in Windows 2019 DC.

I tried this when I said I also tried to do it manually, and Windows 10 always stop the "installing" new feature after around 85-90% then rollback
I read some post online about how uninstalling some virtual network adapters might sove the problem, and now none of my network adapters is showing in Windows and I lost internet in Windows 10 entirely so I'll try to reinstall Windows 10 anyway -
That's bad.
-
Yup
It might have nothing to do with the bloatware free version, I did install openvpn and connectify and some other programs that might touch those virtual network adapters. Before all this shenanigans I did lost my ability to change DNS in each adapter since when I go into their Properties the windows would popup and appears to be empty (with some warnings about having no protocols available or sth)
Seems like I'll get docker up in Ubuntu instead, eventhough I want to and do spent more time in Windows 10 -
It seems you need to use Driver Store explorer to delete those network filter drivers and hopefully you should get the networking back up and running.
I found it very cumbersome to setup Visual studio on W10 with each update screwing up my initial environment for machine learning since I felt nvidia drivers were good on Windows and I went crazy when working projects become non-working w/o updating. I grabbed a uninstaller tool from github and uninstalled every remnants of VS, deleted reg entries, de-bloated the reg files and now all is good under linux. It just works w/o adding any delay to bootup, no more VS services hogging my CPU/RAM etc... -
So I tried using Driver Store Explorer to delete all network adapters drivers, reboot the laptop, try to install new drivers and they always fail with the message "Realtek network controller was not found" and something to do with deep sleep mode
At this point I'll just backup everything and reinstall Windows
Edit: an "upgrade" by reinstalling using the same iso worked for me. Network is back, time to try Hyper-V once again
Edit2: Hyper-V and Docker also worksLast edited: Feb 13, 2019 -
That's why I suggested only to delete network driver filters, I think you deleted Intel drivers as well because of some dependency.
Well its good to hear Docker and HyperV works. Haahaa.pipyakas likes this. -
Is it better now to update to 1809? I'm still at 1803, but the 1809 is being pushed in my Windows Updates now.
I think I remember asking if I had to redo the tweaks I did before, and I can't quite remember exactly what the answers were. -
-
Of course you have to.
-
Very tempting. It has to be pretty stable then. Are you running it daily?
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
Don't! It is stable but not all your apps will work and neither will your games. Example, the moment I launched Watch Dogs 2, it crashes back to the desktop
Don't be this guy >>>
-
No, wait for public release. Never install insider preview and nowadays, RTM isn't really RTM since they release new OS at the last minute forcing everyone to Clean install yet again!
@VICKYGAMEBOY said 19H1 is super fast and snappy.
Back in the day, I used to test 2 subsequent Insider release to see if they really improved or not! Once its public and Patch Tuesday updates keeps coming up then, the snappiness is gone too..Last edited: Feb 16, 2019VICKYGAMEBOY and c69k like this. -

lol that visual tho.. i can say that.. temptation overloaded.. atleast for 20H1..
-
actuallys its 20H1 which is snappier and runs slightly faster, some improvements on Full Screen Games. 19H1 builds had CTD / GSODs with particular optimus systems.. but installing nvidia beta driver fixes the issue.. the latest..

Windows 10 (All Edition) ISO Redstone 5 1809 FEB Update Build 17763.316
This ISO was leaked to me from the MSDN Library. It contains all the updates until today with the build number 17763.316 out of the box so you do not need to perform any manual updates on a clean install (for now at least until there are more updates)
It contains all editions

Awesome. Can I make a USB media with this ISO? Never tried from an ISO.

You should have renamed to some other name since GDrive Automated thing is configured to search and remove MSDN or any software mirror downloads is illegal w/o MSFT's consent.

Yes you can.

Hey, this reminded me…
I still should do a(nother) clean install and was wondering how your last bloat-free build ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/windows-10-redstone-5.823238/page-55#post-10844198) is holding up (assuming that is your latest build)?
If things are still error free I'll D/L that one (unless I should wait for a newer build)
Cheers -
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
forget bloatware free. they are buggy. MSMG has lost his cool. Stick to the official ISOs then tweak with the Windows 10 Tweaks & Fixes Thread -
That's too bad. The install goes sooo much faster when you don't have to disable all the Defender/Edge/all-the-other-crap-MS-insists-we-use.
Anyways, I take it that 17763.316 build you posted on the previous page is the one to grab, or should I just use the download tool? -
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
The download tool gets the previous build .253 so stick to the latest one which has a lot of fixes to this piece of trash OS out of the box -

Although there is no official statement from Microsoft regarding the latest update, it is expected that KB4482887 is mainly focusing to remove the bug in Action Center/Notification Center.

Something good from M!cr0$h4ft?
Well, I guess the only good thing is that it's the latest updated ISO with the option to install Enterprise right out of the box without having to do an upgrade. Haven't tested it though.

That's what I thought. That was sort of a sarcastic question on my part.
We haven't received anything nice or good from the Redmond Retards since Windows 7 SP1 was released.
You should be able to clean install any version of Windows 10 Enterprise direct from ISO without an upgrade if you have the correct ISO.Raiderman, Vasudev, 6.|THE|1|BOSS|.9 and 2 others like this. -
Rolled back from 619 to build 590 because BT was permanently disabled in Windows after I used Airplane mode couple of days earlier. But, I switched it back ON and now its gone. On Linux BT works flawlessly.

Then what happens if I still use the last bloatware free that you made? I find it mostly stable and having next to no bugs. Manually disabling everything is kinda slow after every install0lok likes this.
