Mr. Phoenix Did you try running the bat file I linked to you yesterday. Yoo will get added control over CPU/SSD and others on W10.

Just did a clean install and imported the profile, works like a charm
Make sure you right click on the power plan profile, go to properties, then look at the bottom right if it has a BLOCKED status because it was a downloaded file from the internet, if it was blocked, then tick the box which says UNBLOCK and hit Apply then OK
Also make sure you are launching command prompt as admin, after placing the file in the root of C:, copy/paste this command:
powercfg -import C:\UltimatePerformance.pow -
), and the CMD was in Admin. I did manually create the power plan, but I just can't wrap around my head how that "error" is happening.

@Phoenix Due people seems to have problem/struggle to install the "Amazing" new Ultimate Performance Power Plan. Maybe this will work better (if it work easier - put it in OP) Enable Ultimate Performance Power Plan in Windows 10 (Any Edition)

You are done! -

On the WinAero page it states that "As the power scheme is geared towards reducing micro-latencies it may directly impact hardware"
Anybody have a guess, or better yet actually know, whether this could negatively effect battery life or performance in the long run? -
Ultimate Performance Power plan is equal the High performance plan.
Change advanced power settings in the Power plan to your own liking. As you know some prefer Balanced Power/Power saver plan due weak, flimsy and not adequate cooling. You have to try out what’s best for your setup. -

Found a tweak to get good performance on PCs with HDD only and for those who can't afford SSD due to heavy import duty and other things.
Disabling System Restore actually gave me a boost in performance and OS was super snappy like Win 10 TH2.slimmolG likes this. -
Fresh from a tweaking session with @Phoenix, I noticed we'd forgotten to change the OEM Info on my machine.
For those of us who aren't keen on modifying reg files directly, or just want a one stop solution (yes dude I know the reg files are in your SW Pack, you may want to add this)

Allows simple type and go altering of the OEM Info.

How to disable Web Search in Windows 10 Spring Creators Update
In Windows 10 versions prior to Spring Creators Update 1803, it was relatively easy to get rid of the web search feature. Depending on the OS version, there was an option in Cortana, a Registry tweak, or something like that. Regardless of the version, you could enforce the Group Policy option to disable web search.
This has changed in Windows 10 version 1803. Intentionally or not, Microsoft has broken the Group Policy tweaks, which makes disabling the web search feature a nightmare for advanced users and system administrators. While Enterprise or Education versions of Windows 10 version 1803 are not affected, consumer editions (Home and Pro) can't have the web search disabled.
The polices which do not work any more are the following:
- Do not allow web search
- Don't search the web or display web results in Search
- Don't search the web or display web results in Search over metered connections
-
HI Mr. Foxare these tweaks working for WIn 10 now? I thought I followed the directions and I got errors for all of them. Do you know of another way? Thank you for you help!!

The only thing I can think of is that maybe the slobs from the Redmond Mafia made so many changes to 1803 it does not even resemble prior versions of Windoze OS X, or they have made permissions so restrictive the commands do not work with normal admin rights.
You can try using NSudo with all privileges, including Trusted Installer selected, to see if the scripts work. If it is a permissions issue of some kind that will give you unlimited godlike sledge hammer authority.Last edited: Apr 12, 2018 -
Anyhelp of course is appreciated!
Maybe if anyone else reads this ... they can test them out too.. on the 1803 version of win 10.Last edited: Apr 13, 2018 -
I'm not sure what else to suggest because I do not have 1803 installed on anything. It's very possible they have changed directory paths, or they may be hidden. Did you already try NSudo?

Thank you Mr. Fox! I will update you shortly here.

How to uninstall Microsoft Edge:
1) Download the Microsoft Edge Uninstaller
2) Right click on the ZIP file, go to properties, then hit UNBLOCK from the bottom right since this file was downloaded from the internet
3) Right click on Uninstall Edge.cmd and select Run as Administrator
4) Wait for the process to finish then reboot when it's complete.
5) Unpin the Edge icon which should now be blank from the taskbar if you had Edge pinned before.Last edited: Apr 13, 2018 -
I'm a big fan of glossing over directions and blindly double clicking <kidding of course> and I've never had an issue. I just ran this uninstaller without doing the UNBLOCK and it ran fine. -

If you have Windows 10 Pro, you can disable this from happening via the Group Policy Editor > User Configuration > Windows Components > Attachment Manager > Do not preserve zone information in attachments (set that to enabled, apply, then reboot) -
The "disable downloads blocking" feature of Winaero Tweaker will do the same thing
https://winaero.com/blog/disable-downloaded-files-from-being-blocked-in-windows-10/
I'm surprised that I only found out about this whole blocking thing recently (or maybe I just need to pay closer attention)Vasudev and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
How to Enable the Ultimate Power Plan on Windows 10 Pro or Home (+ as well Windows 10 version 1709 or earlier)
https://www.ghacks.net/2018/04/13/enable-the-ultimate-power-plan-on-windows-10-pro-or-home/
The Ultimate Performance power scheme
The Ultimate Performance power scheme is a new power plan that is only available in Windows 10 Pro for Workstations. Designed to reduce micro-latencies to boost performance, the power plan changes settings that Microsoft collected over time that "allow the OS to quickly tune the behavior based on user preference, policy, underlying hardware or workload".
The Ultimate Performance plan is not available on Windows 10 Pro or Home systems by default. It is possible, however, to integrate the plan in the system. How that is done depends on the version of Windows 10:
Windows 10 version 1709 or earlier
You need to download the power plan to the local system as it can't be enabled directly on Windows 10 version 1709 (Fall Creators Update) and earlier versions of Windows 10.
You can download the plan from this web host.
Do the following once you have downloaded the new power plan:
- Extract the archive to the local system.
- Open a command prompt interface.
- Navigate to the directory you extracted the plan to, e.g. cd c:\users\martin\downloads\ultimateplan
- Run the following command to add the new power plan to the list of available schemes: powercfg -import c:\users\martin\downloads\ultimateplan\UltimatePlan.pow
- Note: you may need to adjust the path accordingly as your username is probably not martin and if you placed the plan in a different directory.
- You should get the "Imported Power Scheme Successfully" message right away.
You find the new plan after selecting "show additional plans". Select it to activate it on the device.
The method is easier if you run Windows 10 version 1803 or later. All you have to do then is the following:
- Tap on the Windows-key to open the Start Menu.
- Type Cmd.
- Hold down the Shift-key and Ctrl-key, and select Cmd.exe from the list of results.
- Select yes when the UAC prompt is displayed.
- Run the command powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61.

Side note: When uninstalling this edge, I restarted and at boot I get an option to do a memory diag but its not required and when i run this test no errors found but it still pops up every restart, which is strange cus I did not initiate this and it did not pop up before hand .... any ideas? Did I break something? lol I ve never seen this before... It shows my OS Win 10 and Then Mem Diag test option... Thank you!
