Much better than having to tweak registry by hand every time I wanted to enable/disable.
It wasn't hard to do, just kind of felt kludgy...

Err, hold on that.
I got me some weird happenin's from it.
Heavy network traffic that I did not feel was warranted and a bad feeling since there was not supposed to be any traffic at all.
I think I'll stick with good old fashioned regedit.

 

That seemed like kinda sketchy software. Not that it is, but the website has typos and an angry rant from the developers in their comment section that makes me wonder...

Here's a strange problem.

My clock, calendar, and other notification center items disappear, reappear, and disappear again? What's going on, and how do I fix it?

I've gone into taskbar settings, and everything seems to be set correctly, including not enabling auto hide. Often when I fiddle with the settings, it all comes back. Weirdly, as I wrote this post, it came back!

If it's a poltergeist, I have to find a different forum.

The package is considered a threat by antivirus software (False Positive). Therefore the zip file is double packed and encrypted. Once you have downloaded and unpacked the package, it is advisable to start the vbs so that the Defender Control is added as an exception in the Defender. Then the second included zip file with the password sordum can be extracted and the tool can be used.

Microsoft has begun force installing the PC Health Check application on Windows 10 devices using a new KB5005463 update to try lure/trick you into buying Win 11 compatible pc's/laptops/hardware.

There is no single reason to have this M$ created malware installed in any computers.

PC Health Check is a new diagnostics tool created by Microsoft and released in conjunction with Windows 11 that provides various troubleshooting and maintenance features.

To avoid inadvertently updating to Windows 11, remember that if you’ve installed the September cumulative updates (or later), the TargetReleaseVersion setting now offers a new way to define which OS version you want. If you have group policy on Windows 10 Professional, drill down to Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components>Windows Update>Windows update for business. Look for “Select the target Feature Update Version.” Click to enable it and enter Windows 10 in the box, “Which Windows product would you like to receive feature updates for? E.g. Windows 10.” (If you are on Windows 10 Home version, you can use the registry key method to do likewise.)

Yup, that is correct. And, I haven't wanted any "updates" for a long time. I think I had 2 updates installed on LTSC 2019 and I only install essential functionality updates on Windows 7 (i.e. KMDF, SHA, NVMe hotfixes, etc.)

 

How to disable Bing Search in Windows 10 version 2004 and newer

When Microsoft launched its Windows 10 operating system in 2015, it merged the local search functionality with the digital assistant Cortana and also Bing Search.

Cortana has since been revamped completely and cut from many parts of the operating system, but Bing Search is still integrated. Run a search for something, and you may get local and remote results. There has never been an option to switch the search engine.

Some users may like the feature, as it may speed up certain look-ups or operations; others dislike it, as the local input is submitted to Microsoft servers. Bing is also not the best of search engines outside of the United States, and especially for non-English speaking countries.

If anyone would like to change from Windows 10 Pro to LTSC as an in-place upgrade without having to format and reinstall or lose all existing settings and apps, there are scripts available to allow that. I confirmed it works on the latest version of LTSC moving from Windows 10 Pro.

but the licensing won't work as the 2021 needs a different product key I heard. Also, no HWID activation yet.

 

Works fine for me. The activation remained after the in-place upgrade on both of my computers using an LTSC 2019 key. No issues at all that I've identified.

That much doesn't matter to me. Activated is activated in my mind. I almost never do a clean install (thanks Macrium Reflect) any more. Once I have Windoze and Offa$$ installed and activated on a fresh OS setup, I make an image and use that. This has almost eliminated the need for product activation for me.

Edit: @Spartan@HIDevolution and @Papusan this also works for converting from W10 Pro to LTSC 2019. Same scripts, in fact. So, it doesn't need to be limited to the current (and somewhat less desirable) version of LTSC. But, any version of LTSC is better than a sheeple edition.

I had to re-enable script hosting in the registry and reassociate .vbs files in W10 Pro 20H2 because the Redmond Retards have broken that functionality in newer versions of the Cancer OS.
