Windows 10 is only a pathetic early beta version. To much bugs and none should use this trash. Without DirecX12 is win X He(Horror edition) a useless OS.
Edit:
http://www.computerworld.com/articl...pgrade-gave-windows-10-a-one-month-boost.html
This was not unexpected. Maybe Microsoft should soon understand that not everyone want this spyware junk. It is only recently that several OS users have understood that Micro$oft again delivered trash as they did when they launched ME. Not everybody wants spyware on their PC. Nor deliver Win X HE a better performance than Win 7/8.1. Rather opposite. LOLLast edited: Sep 17, 2015hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
Although maybe statistically insignificant now it is at 7.29%.
-
Well checking again today market share for the month still shows as 7.29% for W10, W7 went from 51.88 to 51.9%, this seems to at least qualify now as a market growth hiccup at least.
-
I bet it stays there or goes back. Windows 10 is a mess... and, loaded with "features" that add no value.
Not related to Windows 10, but the flawed concept seems remarkably similar:
Automakers spending billions on technologies many consumers don’t use, J.D. Power says
I guess this is to be expected in any industry where idiots with authority are calling the shots.ajkula66 likes this. -
I can see them taking the stance of throwing all the tech against a wall to see what sticks. Servers are cheap along with distribution and implementation. TBH I do not think they thought the privacy issues would be as prevalent as they are with consumers. I also do not think they set out to purposely offend both their private and business consumer base.
The issue though is not what was set out to be done but what will they do with it now that the cat is out of the bag? So far their lack of doing anything is leaving a very bad taste in consumers mouths. People will flock to a free meal but when it looks, tastes and smells of crap they tend not too eat, that is other than the few fanboys that will close their eyes and hold their nose to gorge away in ignorant bliss no matter what.Last edited: Sep 19, 2015Mr. Fox and toughasnails like this. -
W10 is 7.3% while W7 went up to 51.92%. numbers seem to bounce around ever so slightly for the last few days.

I'm looking forward to the 'major' update MS will be providing in November - I read that it will be bringing performance improvements, one of which a slightly different & more efficient memory management (RAM) system. This is fairly old news, but I am interested to find out if it will provide any benefits. Although I imagine this will really only be an improvement on already RAM starved systems - but I can see benefits for 8GB RAM gamers who are knocking up against the limits in games like Arkham Knight for example.
-
Finally a little growth to 7.36% for W10.
-
Up to 7.44%, for now the hiccup seems to be over.
-
Weekend. Now in few days it may fall back a little.
-
Hopefully the major update will be released soon. I want the coloured title bars and Edge extensions ASAP.

Not really, not for a lot of people. The price of the hardware will ensure that Apple maintains its niche spot in the market. And as for PC gamers, well, I can't see us switching anytime soon!ibmthink and Robbo99999 like this.

Windows 10 will never be right as long as the people making decisions at Micro$loth are so screwed up. I mean, c'mon... all the idiotic stuff they did and they thought it would be OK. I don't think I will give it another chance until they provide an option to totally disable updates and telemetry. I'm just not interested in letting them make decisions for me. And, on top of this crap, we have the Alienware and Clevo machines, and desktop motherboards, that are getting damaged by Windows 10 corrupting firmware. No thanks... the joke is back on them now for being the masters of failure.

You're right, Bro - it'll probably never be right - as long as Micro$haft continue to try and rule the world. They need to realise that their OS is there to serve those who use it, not to serve themselves and their own greed and omnipotence.

Remember that Micro$oft promised inside testers to listen to their input. But Micro$oft did not care to hear what those wanted. + 98/99% of Windows 10 is Microsoft's own work. What other trash want Micro$oft to fit into Win 10 later? God knows.

Windows 10 build 10550 could drop this week
It has been less than a week since Windows 10 build 10547 rolled out to the Fast Ring for those testing the Wave 2 update, but now Gabe Aul, the group leader for Windows Insiders, is indicating that a newer build could drop this week. Earlier today Aul tweeted that build 10550 may make the Fast ring.
As Aul points out, it's only three builds newer, but each build usually comes with many bug fixes and enhancements as the company pushes on to ready Windows 10 Wave 2 for a fall release, expected sometime early on in October.
With that date now only a few weeks away, Microsoft will want to get as much feedback from Insiders on the update as possible.

I gave up on insider as they are definitely not listening to my feedback.

Mr. Insider himself is apparently too important to extend the courtesy of a response to our plight with Windows 10 bricking firmware in LCD panels and desktop mainboards. So, yeah... waste of time giving feedback to Micro$loth.

Good, performance update in a week or two then, will be interesting to see if they've increased CPU and SSD performance - I'd be pleased if they can match or better Windows 7 performance in these areas. -
What do you mean? Doesn't everybody know that Windows 10 has always been faster? What, so now we're saying "Well, it's not really been faster before, but it will be, real soon, any day now!" Sheesh...
-
Robbo99999 Notebook Prophet
Haha, I like the sarcasm!? But on the small chance that you're being serious, then who thinks Windows 10 is faster, I don't - CPU & SSD performance is slightly lower than Win 7, hence my interest with their upcoming performance optimisations. But, if I had to place a bet, I'd say you're exercising some sarcasm! (General snappiness of operating system seems faster under Win 10 though regardless) -

Initially I had thought Win10 was problematic when I upgrade my new Dell XPS 13 (9343) due to the system lockups encountered. However, it appears that the issues were with the SSD of my XPS. Dell replaced the SSD and issues persisted (with Win8.1). I now have a new Dell XPS 13 (9343) and have a second SSD (I ordered a new one just in case) and Win10Pro is running really well, no issues to note thus far. Keeping fingers crossed.
-
You should be ok just so long as you do not have your ssd in Raid 0 configuration.
Then according to Intel documentation, you would slowly eat up your ssd hard drive space. If you are running ssd in Raid 0, please monitor to confirm Intel's documentation accuracy. TIA! -
Vulkan Is The Right Way Forward, Not Much Reason To Create DX12 Backend, Says Valve’s Ginsburg
http://wccftech.com/vulkan-reason-create-dx12-backend-valves-ginsburg/
"Here’s why we think Vulkan is the future.
Unless you are aggressive enough to be shipping a DX12 game this year, I would argue that there is really not much reason to ever create a DX12 back end for your game. And the reason for that is that Vulkan will cover you on Windows 10 on the same class of hardware and so much more from all these other platforms and IHVs that we’ve heard from.
Metal is single platform, single vendor, and Vulkan; we are gonna have support for not only Windows 10 but Windows 7, Windows 8, we’re gonna have it on Android and all of the IHVs are making great progress on drivers, I think we’re going to see super rapid adoption.
If you’re developing a game for next generation APIs, I think it’s clear that Vulkan is the best choice and we’re very pleased with the progress and the state of the API. We think it’s gonna power the next generation of games for years to come."

Read.. However, businesses that want to make sure they're as locked down as possible may not be keen on providing any information to Microsoft, especially because previous versions of the operating system didn't require any telemetry data collection. For those users, the company will allow devices running Windows 10 Enterprise to opt out of all telemetry collection, with an update later this year. This has become to an end... Everyone knows that Microsoft pushes telemetry on previous Os also now
. Same spyware Os as Win X HE. LOL

Edit: A very important feature in Win X HE
. Great that Microsoft are concerned about youngsters. This OS are a pure spyware... Perhaps Micro$oft/the government are interested in how we raise our kids?
Myerson also addressed the thorny issue of “spying” in Windows 10 courtesy tools that allow parents to see what sites have been visited on their children’s computers. Microsoft has received plenty of feedback on that subject, with Myerson adding, “As an example of direct response to feedback we’ve received, all Windows 10 customers will receive an upcoming update to family features, with default settings designed to be more appropriate for teenagers, compared to younger children.

no matter what privacy options you choose, neither Windows 10 nor any other Microsoft software scans the content of your email or other communications, or your files, in order to deliver targeted advertising to you.
I can cherry-pick quotes too... -
The key there is to deliver targeted advertising, so do they scan this information for other reasons?

I did a search but cannot find an answer.
Can you dual boot Linux on Windows 10? -
I'm not really sure, nor am I a lawyer. I mainly wanted to make the point about choosing convenient quotes (outside of the context of the article) to bolster ones argument.
It's less than two pages, so probably worth the 2-10 minutes it may take someone to read it for themselves. As it seems like the most recent (and only?) official MS statement on the matter, I felt it would be worth sharing here.
FWIW, I'm still running 8.1 myself, and the machines I administrate at work will stay on 7 for the foreseeable future.

Install each OS with only that hard drive installed (assuming each has it's own drive).
Then, set the boot order in the BIOS to load your OS of preference by default. If you need to boot the other OS, press F12, or the equivalent for your BIOS, and select the other disk to boot from. -
