The harder they push the more resistance people will force, glad to hear.
Still waiting for the DX12, WDDM2.0 to be ported onto lesser better OSes....hehe -

No, not kidding.
The info wasn't for me, it's for those that aren't familiar with what we cryptically reference in a posting.
It's always best to put a link in to anything you reference / recommend in a post, so people don't need to waste time figuring it out on their own x 1000's that read the post over time.
Not everyone is as clued in to the TLA's and places to find them. And without encouragement in the form of a low bar to entry, their attention span will timeout and they will rush over what might be very helpful to them.
Think about it. You mention new things for the people that don't know about them, so they need the link, and a short concise description to help them decide whether to click the link or not.
You don't need to go overboard like me, but a simple Link title, link, and a paragraph copy/pasted from the site helps the newbie reader figure out what's going on
I guess what prompted me to respond, ususally I just smh, is that @Ashtrix had a SPOILER that had an enticing line to peak the interest of those unfamiliar, but no link to check it out.Last edited: Apr 22, 2016Ashtrix likes this. -
I personally thought linking MDL would not be a good choice so....nvm people should know, now that It has been posted. People who knew it alr are good but who like the way Win7 works and purists they should give it a spin
. But be careful, you have been warned

Nah, unless it is a link to illegal stuff, it's not too deep for our forums, provide the link and details with warnings as needed

That was me, but I don't keep it. I use DWS and remove Windows Store and all Metro Apps. I have no use for any of them. Nothing but trash.
I use my $65 Nokia Windows Phone for garbage like that. Very fitting Windows 10 platform. -

Doesn't that screenshot just look like barf because you've chosen a blue desktop & chosen blue as the colour for the task bar and start menu - just all blue on blue? Or are those the new Windows 10 colours? My windows taskbar is grey, also the start menu.hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
I don't think this one is much worse than previous Metro Start panel. Same alphabetical submenus, same thick colors, same ugly.
-
Both points well taken. Hard to be any worse than the ' odeur de la merde' Start menu they gave us before. I refuse to use any version of Windows 8 or 10 without a third-party Start menu. Honestly, I do not believe they are capable of doing anything correctly any more. Everything they produce in an OS is an insufferable piece of trash now. I think they may be approaching the point of no return in terms of disaster recovery and irreversible damage to their reputation.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

If you right click the start button it looks just like win 7 start menu.

And if you hold both mouse buttons clicked while turning computer on it gonna load Win10 with Aero.
p.s. If you have notebook and no mouse then instead of holdind tracpad's buttons as you could take as a guess you should press J+Insert. Why? Because it's microsoft.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

really? can you post a screenshot of how it would look like a Windows 7 start menu?Mr. Fox likes this. -
So, is that Aero everywhere, or just their lame version of Aero on the taskbar? All the Windows and title bars have Aero, or still the ugly monochromatic white crap? And, instead of having to force it, do they make it easy to leave Aero turned on by default?Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

I thought you and the 2 previous posters were being sarcastic because Windows 10 does not have Aero without using a 3rd party tool.
And I really wanna see what that user means by pressing the Windows + X bring back the Windows 7 Start Menu, LOL. Nothing but Classic Shell makes this OS even a bit usable. It just keeps getting worse with every build. If it wasn't for my NVMe drives' crippled performance and horrid boot time in Windows 7, I wouldn't last 1 hour on this POS OS.
Heck, now that I have the Prema BIOS and can enable CSM in the BIOS, I am tempted to try Windows 7 again to see if the boot time has improved because last time I tried it was on stock BIOS with no CSM option, just disabled UEFI, don't know if that's the same effect as enabling CSMtoughasnails and hmscott like this. -

I think many Win7 users nearly puked after they booted up the machine with X first time and look what the Redmond mafia had created. A spy box monster of dimensions. + Hideous ugly pastel colored tiles everywhere. And if you open app settings and look into this crap and you will be even much more disgusted

The Redmond Morons becoming more and more desperate now. Remember, they must achieve the target of 2 billion licenses of the new trash + their new phones is a big fiasco. Win Store is there waiting for you, LOL. MAYBE YOU GET A VERY GOOD DEAL ON AN EXTRA WIN CRAP license to a new machine or one you have that has XP in their **** Store? HaHa. Run run and update TODAY. Skip your job and do the upgrade instead

I think the way google does it is much better than this bloated intrusive POS OS. Coming from an Android since it's inception and Windows 7 user for 8 years !!

I'm not sure. All that Google+ and Talk crap. Generally I think their services are better made (except for Office and I guess Skydrive is OK), but they are still bloated.Ashtrix likes this. -
Google+ is great purpose for leaving comments on some news-sites which isn't worth for me nor deserve my actual or even backup email to be given. Just use Google account I never use for anything. So it's also the only purpose of G+ for me.

Haha, but in truth you can configure Windows 10 in the Update Options so that updates won't be installed by surprise like that - it's called 'Notify to Schedule Restart', that's the option you choose. -

Fortunately, if you run into this problem you just need to disable loading the keys in UEFI BIOS settings.
Set to "other OS" and verify keys state is "unloaded" instead of "loaded", then boot into Windows 7 as normal.

Yeah, I know. However, the concept of this crap is to destroy for mod firmware in the whole future. I will not have a fully protected and totally locked machine... I have paid a lot of money for my machine. And I self should determine what I want do with it. Not the Redmond Morons + the idiots who create new pc models. They want all my money, then let me self do what I want with my purchase. Damn IDIOTS!!
