On the flipside, if he is right and this is some kind of modded OS that might actually be a good thing since there is nothing special about the product I downloaded. It is inferior, at least at this point in time. If this is the legit pre-release version, I'd hope for something better. -

Microsoft goes after the websites that leaked Windows 11 iSO windowsreport.com
- The Windows 11 hype is not yet over and already Microsoft is out seeking vengeance for the recent leak.
- The tech giant filed a DMCA complaint against the websites that have been leaking the Windows 11 ISO.
- It seems that the originator of the leak, according to Microsoft, is an Indian web publication called Beebom.
- By doing so, Microsoft inadvertently confirmed the existence of Windows 11 to users worldwide, ending all sorts of speculations.

The biggest downgrades I'm seeing in this version so far are massive Information density loss, the explorer navigation is really stupid and not made for PC hardware at all. Damn I even keep my Android phone have maximum information density not less, because I can utilize the screen to full potential. Then they killed the whole Taskbar system with the new UWP garbage ? There's no more Drag and Drop support, for example you have a .zip file and you can copy across windows if you want by simply using mouse and holding over icons on the taskbar it will open the respective application / explorer window you can do multiple things, pinning and etc. Then they removed the combining of labels too. Also, I use Foobar 2K and has a WinTense Win7 shell extension component that helps me see the progress of the track, or other applications like JDownloader which shows progress bar, I bet they removed all of that too.
These are massive fundamental changes, horrible POS garbage. Really annoying to see such stupid changes and adding gunk and pure garbage like News, Notification center, more Xbloat garbage and Store drama.
I really want developers to grow a pair and start making DX12 obsolete. And push for Vulkan and Linux on games, not that I'm addicted to these new garbage games that they are pushing nowadays but masses will kick the curb once that happens and this disastrous garbage M$ and their stupid ideas would be obsolete.
As for LTSC, I'm not able to grasp how can they push an LTSC on this garbage version. They should make Win10 LTSC version only instead of this garbage. But since extended support is for 10 Years for LTSC 2019, they might be so stupid to release an LTSC on Win11. Damn this is getting worse than Windows10 which I despised since it's debut (I use Win10 Enterprise on work laptop, it doesn't pose a usability threat except for that idiotic task switcher, even the Start is OK. CP and Settings I don't use since it's controlled by Corporate but it's a mess. However this on the other hand is horrid)
Windows 7 looks, feels and works million times better than this pile of junk even after more than 10 years.Last edited: Jun 18, 2021 -

There was never any intention to create a product to serve customer needs, Windows 11 is not an operating system: It's a software product designed to harvest information and produce recurring revenue streams. The GUI portion of it is just the cheese baiting the trap.
There is a reason they've been telling you for years that windows is a service; if you don't like now think about where we're headed.
Edit... That was in response to ashtrix, the quote got dropped for some reason. -

Check now please:
Windows 11 Sounds
1) Download the ZIP File
2) Make sure to right-click on the file you just downloaded, go to Properties, then hit Unblock from the bottom right as it may be blocked since it was downloaded from the internet, if you don't do this before you extract it, then all the files that you extract will have a BLOCKED status.
To prevent this automatic blocking of files in the future so you don't have to go unblocking every file you download to ensure it runs properly, check the guide in this thread:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/are-you-sure-you-want-to-run-this-file-yes-or-no.825668/
3) Take ownership of the folder C:\Windows\Media (change it to the Everyone user group)
4) In the main properties Windows of that folder, under the Security Tab, click EDIT, then also add the Everyone Group there and grant them full privileges
5) Delete the folder
6) Replace it with the folder you just downloaded -
The Windows User Account Control.wav file for LTSC 2019 is the obnoxious one that we hate. It has the same file name, but it is not the same. It is 185K in size besides sounding obnoxious. 20H2, 21H1 and W11 have the same 396K UAC wav file that sounds far more pleasant.
I am not able to spot any differences in the default Windows Sound files between W11, 21H1 and 20H2. They seem to be the same and all that I played sounded the same.Last edited: Jun 18, 2021Spartan@HIDevolution and Papusan like this. -

Windows 11 — here's why there's already a backlash tomsguide.com | 8 hours ago
Windows 11 — or at least, an unfinished build of whatever the next Windows ends up being called — has leaked online ahead of Microsoft's June 24th Windows event, and some people seem to be taking it personally.
Public backlash to a new idea or product is as common as mosquitos in summer, and just as biting. But this time it may be significant enough to influence Microsoft's path forward for the next big Windows release.
Windows 11 backlash
If you haven't seen it yet, the leaked dev build of Windows that spread across the internet in mid-June reveals a streamlined new look for the venerable operating system that includes rounded corners and a centered Start button.
Those two new changes alone seem to have peeved many people, which may influence Microsoft's messaging and push the company to offer more visual customization options in a final build.
For example, there are those who feel the rounded edges of Windows' new UI are a little too similar to those you'll see in Apple's macOS. The centered Start button has also caused consternation, despite the fact that you can relocate the Start button back to the left-hand corner of the taskbar if you like.
There's also some online trepidation over how closely the leaked build of new Windows resembles the promotional shots of Windows 10X, a now defunct version of Windows 10 optimized for touchscreens and meant to compete against Chrome OS.
With a leaked build of Windows in the wild and a Windows press event on the horizon, those reports appear to be true. Many fans seem to be more than a bit dismayed that the next big thing for Windows appears to be a subtle redesign that delivers a smorgasbord of small changes, rather than a significant overhaul of the aging operating system.
The more bad publicity the bigger chance is it for Microsoft to change before the real released OS version.

This is the crippled OS that Windows 10 should have been.
1- Love the fluid animations, my 60hz 4K OLED panel felt so jerky in Windows 10, with Windows 11, it feels like a 90hz panel, animations are so fluid and smooth.
2- The snappiness is just insane even with animations turned on compared to Windows 10
3- Default apps finally has a search bar enabling you to quickly find the extension you want to associate a program to:
-
Maybe they're trying to get ahead of leaks that are unofficial with its official leak of something that's not ready for prime time like Windows 11 isn't ready for prime time, lol.
-
And a couple of new features can't replace/substitute the new Ugly in this OS version. A lot need to be changed before it will get a OK stamp from me.

In a world that is filled with inconsistency and uncertainty about what the future holds, I find it comforting to know that I can rely on the truth that the next version of Windows is always going to suck more than the one before it because the people that make it always suck more than they used to and their behavior demonstrates that they are idiots. I sleep well knowing that I can expect more of the same when I wake up the next day.

Why is there a Windows 11 if Windows 10 is the last Windows?
If Windows 10 was supposed to be the last version of Windows, why is there a Windows 11? Well, because Windows 10 was never officially the last version of Windows.
Really, though, Windows 11 is a branding exercise. Windows 11 is still Windows, and it’s still Windows 10, much like Windows 10 carried forward elements found within Windows 8. Microsoft will patch it, and likely continue to add featurrs, whatever it is -- "Windows as a service" isn't going away. Expecting Windows to carry forward “Windows 10” until the end of time, though, was likely unrealistic. So yes, right now it appears that Nixon’s statement was wrong, and that Microsoft does plan to move on from Windows 10. But give Nixon a break, too: He made an enthusiastic, throwaway comment that ended up being understood as company policy. -
The way I look at it is this: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I just wish the enemy of my enemy didn't suck at their job so much. -

Windows 11 appears to outperform Windows 10 by a huge margin | Windows Central -
So I just read that I would need TPM 2.0? None of my systems have that, and since I ran it in VBOX, it didn't complain whatsoever so I don't know what gives? This sounds like another arbitrary "requirement". My M4800 and Zbook 15 G2 only have 1.2, and since I don't use it, it's enough.

He even run two different Geekbench versions in his apple to apple testing. This benchmark is prone to scew the results all over the place if you use different versions (two diffrent versions can provide different results).
He don't even know what Power plan he use for his tests. Stamp of proof = Failed!

Even on MacOS, there is an app but it doesn't hold a candle next to IDM.
Referring to Downie -
It may be possible to run IDM under WINE. Maybe someday I will try it and see. I know the Chrome browser extension on Linux Chrome and Chromium functions.Normimb, Papusan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
https://itsfoss.com/4-best-download-managers-for-linux/
Those who turned from Windows to Linux, they are more likely to choose XDM because XDM has a similar user interface to IDM (Internet Download Manager). XDM is very easy to install and easy to use with many features. XDM latest version released last year with bug fixes. Here are some of the basic features of Xtreme Download Manager –
- Resume Capability: XDM supports resume capability. To resume any downloading, select it and click resume. If download URL has expired then XDM gives the option to refresh URL.
- Force Assemble: Force assemble is a nice feature in XDM. We often suffer from an error popping up on the completion of download that says ‘Files could not be assembled’ or any similar one. This option is very useful for assembling all the downloaded parts. Using this option with software or application downloading may give you an error when you execute that force assembled file. But using force assemble with videos is successful.
- YouTube Video Downloader: You don’t need to install any other YouTube downloader for Linux because XDM has an inbuilt feature to download YouTube Videos. Just copy the URL and paste it and select the video quality and click download.
- Browser Integration: XDM can be integrated with modern browsers like Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome etc.

Windows 11 planned as summer (co_release) and fall version (co_refresh)
good Morning June 21, 2021 3:17 PM
The next version of Windows 11 is certain. In advance there were rumors that we will get a Windows 11 summer version (co_release) (co = code name: Cobalt) and an autumn version (co_refresh) this year....
Again as a note: the current 21996 that is in circulation is not fully equipped with the functions. That will be the 22000 and higher first. Everything is regulated by the Experience Packs that will be released, which Microsoft will then import. Because without it, Windows 11 is a perfectly normal Windows 10.Last edited: Jun 21, 2021Ashtrix, Normimb, Spartan@HIDevolution and 1 other person like this. -

In this case, I wouldn't mind going to Windows 11 LTSC since I would still be getting my 20 fps increase over standard Windows 11 builds in CPU intensive games.
Windows 11 seems to be a requirement for taking full advantage of the hardware resources in Intel's upcoming hybrid CPUs. I'm really looking forward to seeing another revision of the Clevo X170 with an Alder Lake CPU inside! I'm mainly just excited for the significant increase in single core performance coming with Alder Lake (we'll see if this pans out, I really hope it does). -

Now they are copying everything from AMD (Glue/Chiplet), Apple (BigLittle ARM design) couldn't get their head out of that lithography disaster so announced an escape card with the help of their mountain load of money, Intel Foundry Services, IDM 2.0. AMD on the other hand showed a flat-out 15% Performance boost with existing design on existing node with ZERO IPC and uArch changes. Even Dr. Ian Cutress from Anandtech is unimpressed with Intel due to no press on Alder Lake, and Intel doesn't know how to keep up lead in Microcontroller market they are buying up RISC-V and announced a new project.
The only hope for Intel is Raptor Lake and Sapphire Rapids. If they fail to impress there, then it's game over for them. Remember, AMD Zen 4 based EPYC rumors are already up the max core count is purported to be 80-90Cores design up from 64Cores, without SMT, when we factor that AMD performance jump is going leaps ahead, in parallel to give Intel a shock, ARM announced new designs Neoverse V1 and N2 designs, Anandtech guesstimated performance is at EPYC Milan levels. Amazon Graviton 3 is inevitable now...
Alder Lake is going to be hot. Also if rumors are correct, they are killing off AVX512. If Zen 4 brings it, then Intel is toast. And their purported ST IPC boost is not doing anything. Rocket Lake has hit 19% IPC gain but in the workload performance it was barely an inch above CML and Zen 3 still beat it in SMT.
LTSC, I will wait what M$ unfolds. I want a Desktop OS, so LTSC Win10 is better direction. But I doubt that, still gotta see what is in their bag tmrw.
