My legion 5 webcam's went bad but then started working again and then later it failed again so basically i wont be able to login my laptop with Windows 11. Also what about desktops will they have to have webcams too? Also most laptops dont support Windows Hello..
Windows 10 was the first step of it especially with added telemetry and other privacy settings and now they went for the Jugular by making a more restrictive OS than Windows 10.

Here's the strategy, at first fully open and free, lowest prices at a loss, kill everyone else off or other options setting up an effective monopoly THEN close the trap door. Locked out/disenfranchised unless you comply. One of many strategies to get us here and frightening whats coming next, shivers. I'm seeing this with requiring phone number verification for everything now even basic email, stupid specialty sites etc etc before your un and password/email address was fine, not anymore. IP tracking all over. It's all for your "security" as defined by the "legit" mafia that all this is. Kinda like mob bosses provide "protection" but it's from THEM and their dogs effectively. Even the so called benign Craigslist which isn't benign nor non profit, if you use a vpn they block you same goes all over the place. It's really sophisticated scammers that benefit from all this, not honest people. Web of death.

Of course Microsoft want this tech. Very useful for everything. And they have to offer what their customers (Government, not you) ask for.
Tencent Will Use Facial Recognition in China to Prevent Late Night Gaming Sessions pcmag.com
Minors are only allowed to play games for 90 minutes per day and not after 10 p.m. in China.
As Gizmodo reports, the new system is called "Midnight Patrol," and it requires gamers to have their face scanned while sitting at a computer if they intend to play games use their computers. Their face is then matched to a registered profile, which includes their real name and age, a system Tencent introduced in 2018. If the person is a minor, then a hard limit is set on how long they can play and when.
Although this sounds like an extreme move by Tencent, it seems necessary to comply with the very strict rules around gaming the Chinese government introduced in 2019 (it was also limited in 2018 to save children's eyesight). As Digital Trends reports, minors can only play games for 90 minutes per week day, and 180 minutes on weekend days or holidays. The other hard limit is no gaming being allowed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. each day.
Of course, children will try and think of ways to bypass the system, but Tencent has thought of that. If facial recognition isn't used, it defaults to marking the gamer as a minor. I'm sure a few people will attempt to use a mask or photo of an adult to try and fool the system, but whether that works depends on how good Tencent's tech is. Yep, masks ain't only for Corona virus

Win 11 driver from AMD, normal GeForce driver from Nvidia
In terms of performance, Windows 11 is almost identical to Windows 10. Some games run a little faster than under the old version, while others run a little slower or at the same speed. This applies to both the GeForce RTX 3080 and the Radeon RX 6800 XT and thus probably also to all other current graphics card models.
With a Radeon, however, it makes sense for performance reasons to use the driver supplied with Windows 11, since the freely available Adrenalin 21.6.2 apparently contains fewer optimizations for Microsoft's latest development. There are no problems with the adrenaline either, but the speed is sometimes a little worse. With a GeForce, however, you should always use the latest downloadable driver. Because the Nvidia driver that comes with Windows 11 is currently simply old.

Tencent's always been a joke to me, they seem much more like a political power that's masking themselves as a company so that they can slowly rot every other company they touch. It truly saddens me to see that Tencent is starting to dominate the west, but that's how the world works. At some point, people will snap out of their haze and realize how strange and evil Tencent has become, and they will revolt. I'm just here hoping this happens as soon as possible before they start messing with more mainstream companies here in the west. It would be a shame if they got even closer to Microsoft as I truly think Windows is a good OS, and the people who are changing/running it are bad. -
BUT unfortunately there's a catch. Windows 10 LTSC 2019 1809 is 10 year lifecycle, the update will be there until 2029 (Extended, Mainstream is 2024). While the LTSC from now on will only have a 5 year lifecycle, not sure about the extended support gotta wait until M$ releases the ISO and lays out the policies. So that means LTSC 2020 will have only 2025, the same year Win10 Client editions are EOLed.
Also no idea on the Enterprise IoT versions. I'm not sure on how much they are similar to the usual Enterprise version.Last edited: Jul 8, 2021 -

I wonder if it will be even a possibility to revert back to anything if you buy a new pc that they will preload with W11? I was reading an article that says you have 10 days or so to revert to w10 if you "upgrade" to 11 but what if that's the only thing ever put on there? I'm assuming you can wipe it and install w10 or w7(with workarounds sadly). I guess the previous experience with w8/w7 and w10 would answer that but I thankfully never went through that.
-
And of course you have to expect that they will try close all holes so you can't install Win 11 on old hardware when the released OS is ready for yoo. Buy new computers/Surface-book this fall and you're good to go with Win 11 when it is ready, LOOL
You can no longer get the old start menu in Windows 11 windowsreport.com
- After the release of Windows 11, users started altering UI elements using some registry hacks.
- The most popular tweak involved the start menu, which people reverted to the way it looks on Windows 10.
- However, build 22000.65 of the new operating system will no longer allow anyone to modify the Start menu with these hacks.
Most users, especially the ones using this method, are not happy at all with Microsoft's choice.

I'm a bit disoriented(disorientated for intls lol) here, did @Mr. Fox say that win11 is better(faster) than ltsc? If so maybe no win11 LTSC? Another thing you guys are enthusiasts, most cpu/gpu are way overpowered for what most normies do so I guess the "look" is more important aka rottenapple looks good to them ugh Of course the software makers add a bunch of garbage to "improve" their newest which requires more oomf, doesn't add much that people actually use though. I've not noticed much in heavy cad programs that is a huge improvement for the GB's extra space and latest cpu/gpu in their "recommended" lists.

When customers order computers from us, most of them choose the Windows Clean Install Service. If I spot that, I call them and say sir, the days of manufacturers putting bloatware on a computer are long gone. Whatever utilities are there are actually stuff you may want for the functionality of the computer, all the bloatware comes from Microsoft so even on a clean install, you'd get all the Candy Crush, Mickey Mouse, Disney Land, Cortana, etc BS so save your money and lemme cancel the clean install for you! -

The "News and Interests" feed in particular is especially unloved. While there is some level of customization available, all of the news and interests are topics that Micro$lop wants me to see. It is all about supporting their world view, skewed perspectives from sources I hold in contempt, pushing the agenda(s) they support; rather than news and interests from sources that matter to me, based on my world view and supporting agenda(s) that matter to me. I tried to customize it enough to make it useful to me and ultimately decided that is was a worthless garbage feature that needs to be disabled.
I also find notifications mostly annoying on computers and phones. I disable notifications completely on my computers and I disable the vast majority of them on my phones.
Seems like Windows 10-11 are focused on offering lots of bun, with very little beef...

Allegedly, Windows 11 takes a high toll on laptop batteries windowsreport.com
Although there are many that confirm this problem, the first build of the future operating system didn’t seem to trigger a similar reaction.
Regarding new features bro Fox. Microsoft don't trust the users choices, hence they will add alerts for almost everything. Change a settings Microsot don't like and they will try teach you

This is a step in the right direction. It is so difficult to understand how anyone could be anything less than pleased with the idea that WaaS might be dying. It never should have existed in the first place. It is unfortunate that it took so long, and so much damage was caused in the process.
https://www.computerworld.com/artic...-microsoft-ends-windows-as-a-service.amp.html -
Well the Sordum/Winaero/third party firewalls and other hacks pretty much negated the WAAS aspects imo. Seems like the largest problems come with just accepting every MS directive like most small business or non computer savvy people do. I remember a small business with win10 a couple years ago that would have to reset and have a tech come in once a month to just get rid of the BSOD's, update loops etc etc And I can't even begin to mention what older people who are not tech savvy/accept everything, go through, the amount of spam/bugs/etc etc and lost files on my gparents old computer was incredible. Having older equipment doesn't help, nor being on a local server system etc
What would be really scary is if you could ONLY have a login screen and the whole system was in the cloud at all times, no control whatsoever. Of course M$ etc would love that and are working towards it in other contexts. Here's your lifetime assigned kiosk, comrade!!Clamibot, Mr. Fox, Ashtrix and 1 other person like this. -
Well the WaaS is still their official slogan at M$. Probably the cost for them was too much to manage all that bugfest disasters even with Insider ring guinea pigs. Plus this would let them cost some cost too on their non existent disastrous garbage QA pile of junk. Only silver lining from the Win11 was their change of SAC to AC, Semi Annual BS to Annual Update cadence. Moreover they also changed the EOL expiration policy too. With SAC releases the Win10 were EOLed after 18months, probably the WHQL and etc Drivers won't be optimized well for those expired versions of Windows 10, not sure how LTSC is impacted here. Anyways the new policy for Win11 RTM Annual Channel releases is now 36 months, it's 2x that of old policy. As for LTSC on Win10 20H2 is not yet out but it's pegged at 2025, 5 year tops support. They recently changed it for new LTSC releases. New Win11 LTSC probably won't come out this year, too many drastic changes in Win11 that will bork the enterprise applications esp with the Shell32 aspects of Taskbar and Explorer.
Moving on this is the future...
Microsoft puts PCs in the cloud with Windows 365
They never abandoned WaaS, now it's DaaS, it was writing on the wall. So until the Silicon lithography exists for mass production we can control the OS past that. It's over. The sad part is people kicked off Apple in the past due to their extremely closed nature and anti repair. They still do even now...Rossman always explained it as we all know esp that Intersil IC which Apple banned on retail market sale which is crucial for all Mac trashbooks. Their OS is closed, blackbox over the top propaganda for "Privacy" recently Apple was sending out notification to one of their customer about her email being monitored by Fed. And how Apple cares so much for the welfare of people and planet esp, when they release new disposable trash phones, and whole market followed. Everyone is now wanting to be Apple. Remove the 3.5mm jack to make money on Wireless Audio, make an app for that and make an ecosystem surrounding it. Pixel, Samsung, OnePlus to name a few. M$ also joining the ranks lately since Win10 with UWP nonsense and Ultra spyware bloatware garbage and tons of that GaaS Ecosystem lockdown with Xbox TrashPass and other crap.
Downhill is all I see, people are too domesticated to stand up against the corporations to be precise Desensitization. Look how many use Win10 despite it's pathetic garbage nature of Anti Personal Computer concept literally same for every single Apple product infact it started from there only. Now we have people doing Soyjak level of excitement for Windows 11.Last edited: Jul 14, 2021Papusan and hertzian56 like this. -

Rather than focusing on building a real OS that works, this is Microsoft's priority right now:
Microsoft has brand new emoji coming to Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
I guess they must compete with Apple....

Microsoft work hard to push you to the Microsoft Store.
- We’re introducing a new entertainment widget! The entertainment widget allows you to see new and featured movie titles available in the Microsoft Store. Selecting a movie will direct you to the Microsoft Store to see more information about that title. Just open widgets and click or tap on the “Add widgets” button and choose the entertainment widget.
And look at this long beauty.
Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22000.71: Fixes
- Taskbar:
- We fixed an issue where if you drag app icons on the Taskbar to rearrange them, it was making the apps launch or minimize when you released the icon.
- Using a long press with touch on an app icon in the Taskbar to open the jump list should now work.
- After right-clicking the Start icon in the Taskbar, clicking somewhere else should now dismiss the menu more reliably.
- Shift + Right-click on an app icon in the Taskbar will now bring up the window menu like it used to and not the jump list.
- We’ve addressed an issue that was making your mouse move slowly when hovering over the Taskbar previews.
- We’ve included the fix for an issue when using multiple Desktops where an app icon in the taskbar might give the appearance of multiple windows being open when that wasn’t the case on that Desktop.
- When using the Amharic IME you should no longer see an unexpected X next to the IME icon in the taskbar.
- The issue where if you click on the input indicator on the Taskbar and it would unexpectedly highlighted Quick Settings has been fixed.
- When you hover over Task View, the preview flyout for your Desktops will no longer pop back up after using Esc to dismiss them.
- We made a fix to address an issue where explorer.exe might crash after hovering over the Task View icon in the Taskbar.
- We fixed an issue where the selected date in the calendar flyout was out of sync with the date in the Taskbar.
- We made an update to address a scenario resulting in some Insiders not seeing the lunar calendar text in the calendar flyout when enabled in Settings.
- This flight addressed an issue that could unexpectedly make the Taskbar background transparent.
- Right-clicking the focus assist icon in the taskbar should now show a context menu.
- The issue from the previous flight where icons in the taskbar corner were getting crushed against the top of the Taskbar has been addressed.
- The tooltip for the location in use icon in the Taskbar should no longer appear blank sometimes.
- Settings:
- We fixed an issue making Settings crash on launch periodically.
- Using the volume mixer sliders in Sound Settings should be more responsive now, as well as the page responsiveness as a whole.
- We fixed an issue resulting in Disk and Volumes Settings’ change size option being clipped.
- There was a non-functional verify link under Backup Settings – this has been fixed.
- The Power and Battery Settings page should no longer be reporting that battery saver is engaged in it’s not.
- The Power and Battery Settings page should also now not crash when launched from Quick Settings.
- We fixed a grammatical error in the Sign-in Settings text.
- The “I forgot my PIN” link was unexpectedly missing in Sign-in Settings when a PIN was set up and has now been returned.
- The issue where the Move option under Apps & Features in Settings wasn’t working reliably should be addressed in this build.
- We’ve mitigated a problem where some of the colors in Settings weren’t updating after switching between dark and light mode, leaving unreadable text.
- We’ve done some work to help improve the performance of Settings when switching between light and dark mode.
- We addressed an issue where some of the elements of the Themes page in Settings would end up crowded together when the window size was small.
- We resolved an issue where the Pen menu toggle under Taskbar Settings was not in sync with the actual state of the feature.
- Changes made to “Dismiss notification after this amount of time” in Accessibility Settings should now persist.
- Some of the icons you could enable in Taskbar Settings were erroneously labeled Windows Explorer even though that’s not what they were – this should now be fixed.
- The Connect text in Quick Settings has been updated to say Cast.
- File Explorer:
- Clicking the command bar button twice should now close any dropdown that appeared.
- The new command bar should now appear when “Open folders in a separate process” is enabled under File Explorer Options > View.
- This build addresses an issue where right clicking a file and selecting Open With > Choose another app might launch the file in the default app rather than opening the Open With dialog.
- Fixed an issue the desktop and File Explorer context menu would stop launching.
- Search:
- We fixed an issue where the option to verify your account in Search wasn’t working.
- Hovering over the Search icon on a secondary monitor will now show the flyout on the correct monitor.
- Search should now work if you open Start and start typing after having gone to the apps list and back.
- Widgets:
- When using the Outlook client with a Microsoft account, Calendar, and To Do updates should sync faster down to the widgets.
- We addressed an issue where if you added multiple widgets quickly from the widgets settings, it could result in some of the widgets not being visible on the board.
- We fixed a bug where widgets could all become stuck in a loading state (blank squares in the window).
- The traffic widget should now follow the Windows mode (light or dark).
- The title of the sports widget should no longer mismatch with the content of the widget.

- This build addresses an issue where ALT + Tab was getting stuck open sometimes after you released the keys and had to be manually dismissed.
- We made a fix for an issue where Narrator focus wasn’t ending up on the emoji panel after using the keyboard shortcut to open it.
- Magnifier’s lens view has been updated so the lens now has rounded corners.
- We found an issue that was noticeably impacting Start launch reliability for some Insiders, and have addressed it with this flight.
- We’ve updated the “Most Used” text in the Start menu’s app list so it should no longer be getting clipped.
- Using the semantic zoom in Start’s app list should no longer result in the list being pushed down and to the right off the edge of the window.
- We fixed an issue where if you pressed WIN + Z you would need to press Tab before you could use the arrow key to navigate through the snap layouts.
- We addressed an issue where an acrylic area could get left on the screen after repeatedly snapping and unsnapping a window with touch.
- We’ve done some work to mitigate an unexpected flash when moving a snapped window with touch.
- We made a change to help window borders have a little more contrast when “Show accent color on title bars and windows borders” was turned off.
- [REMINDER] When upgrading to Windows 11 from Windows 10 or when installing an update to Windows 11, some features may be deprecated or removed. See details here.
- Start:
- In some cases, you might be unable to enter text when using Search from Start or the Taskbar. If you experience the issue, press WIN + R on the keyboard to launch the Run dialog box, then close it.
- Based on feedback, we are working on adding access keys to WIN + X so that you can do things like “WIN + X M” to launch Device Manager. Insiders may see this functionality in this build, however we are currently investigating an issue in which sometimes the option is unexpectedly unavailable.
- Taskbar:
- There is an issue in this build where Explorer.exe will crash when the date and time button on the Taskbar is clicked to access new notifications with Focus Assist turned off. The workaround for this is to enable Focus assist to priority or alarms mode. Note that when focus assist is turned on, notification popups won’t appear, but they will be in the notification center when opened.
- The Taskbar will sometimes flicker when switching input methods.
- Taskbar previews may draw partially offscreen.
- Settings:
- When launching the Settings app, a brief green flash may appear.
- When using Quick Settings to modify Accessibility settings, the settings UI may not save the selected state.
- The button to rename your PC doesn’t work in this build. If needed, this can be done using sysdm.cpl.
- Settings will crash when clicking “Facial recognition (Windows Hello)” under Sign-in Settings if Windows Hello is already set up.
- Reset this PC and Go back buttons in Settings > System > Recovery do not function. Reset and roll back can be accessed from the Windows Recovery Environment by selecting System > Recovery > Advanced startup, and pressing Restart now. Once in Windows Recovery, choose Troubleshoot.
- Choose Reset this PC to perform a reset.
- Choose Advanced options > Uninstall Updates > Uninstall latest feature update to perform a rollback.
- File Explorer:
- Explorer.exe crashes in a loop for Insiders using the Turkish display language when battery charge is at 100%.
- When right clicking the desktop or File Explorer, the resulting context menu and submenus may appear partially off screen.
- Clicking a desktop icon or context menu entry may result in the wrong item being selected.
- Search:
- After clicking the Search icon on the Taskbar, the Search panel may not open. If this occurs, restart the “Windows Explorer” process, and open the search panel again.
- When you hover your mouse over the Search icon on the Taskbar, recent searches may not be displayed. To work around the issue, restart your PC.
- Search panel might appear as black and not display any content below the search box.
- Widgets:
- Widgets board may appear empty. To work around the issue, you can sign out and then sign back in again.
- Launching links from the widgets board may not invoke apps to the foreground.
- Widgets may be displayed in the wrong size on external monitors. If you encounter this, you can launch the widgets via touch or WIN + W shortcut on your actual PC display first and then launch on your secondary monitors.
- Store:
- The install button might not be functional yet in some limited scenarios.
- Rating and reviews are not available for some apps.
- Windows Security:
- Device Security is unexpectedly saying “Standard hardware security not supported” for Insiders with supported hardware.
- “Automatic sample submission” is unexpectedly turned off when you restart your PC.
- Localization:
- There is an issue where some Insiders may be some missing translations from their user experience for a small subset of languages running the latest Insider Preview builds. To confirm if you have been impacted, please visit this Answers forum post and follow the steps for remediation.

My generation is more focused on accessibility and dumbing things down for the sake of making it easier for "less advantaged people" to use than making something that's legitimately good, even if its a bit complex or hard to use. And I'm just going to say it, as someone with moderate aspergers, this mindset makes me so angry as it is now starting to effect my every day life for the worse, even though its aimed at people who are "like me."
I'll stop my rant, but I really hope MS doesn't fully go down this route, and if they do, we better let all hell loose in hopes for a change.Ashtrix, Spartan@HIDevolution, Clamibot and 2 others like this.
