But from the above link, it says it cost about $16, i think. it is going to cost me more to get the liscense?
so are you saying that the one i want to get is not the full version?
all i really need is an upgrade. this laptop came with home premium.

If you want to buy and download the full version of Vista with a new license key check out the following links.
Vista x64
or...
Vista x32
You will also receive backup discs with your order which you can do a clean install from. -
-
thanks.
but dang, $200 for ultimate? I can get it for one hundred less. So i'll do it that way. -
The links are no longer working
-
Dare I say it, maybe M$ has found this thread
. I changed numbers and nothing worked. Well, maybe there is a way to get the links back; I hope so!
-
MS knows about this thread and digitallife. Its all legal simce they do have a distributing licence
Daily download bandwidth must have ran out -
somebody posted fixed links on digitallife
so i fixed the links in the OP
but, x64 links still do not work -
Microsoft figured out that you could download by changing the
/60316070-3318708--NOA/ part
So they fixed that and now we need to find the actual location every time
So, we need to find what that part is for the x64 stuff -
What are you doing microsoft? Now allowing us to BUY a 64bit vista with OEM keys but also not allowing us to download from the digital river...
-
What is M$'s problem? These links come without a licence so how is anyone supposed to do anything they are not supposed to do with them? Besides, why can US consumers order the dvd media but no one else can except though these links? Sorry, just very fustrated that these links are not being left alone so that everyone can get what they need. Nothing illegal can be done with these links so what is the problem? I just feel so bad for people joining the thread too late
. I am so glad, v3loc1ty2.0, that you are willing to put in the time and effort to keep chasing the links around, lol! Unfortunatly it looks like it will always be a cat and mouse game with M$ always shutting down any workaround that anyone finds.
Ironically, I have just realized that this thread and others like it are the only ways for people now to know how to get to the links anyway. Digital Life has not updated their links so theirs will always be inoperable. In other words, the amount of people actually being able to obtain these files is very small and limited to those hunting these types of forums. You would hope that we would be given a break, sigh.....! -
I messed around editing the x32 links in the first post and it seems like I found the x64 versions of the boot.wim and install.wim files. Here are the links.
x64 boot.wim *verified
x64 install.wim *verfied
EDIT: *I have verified that both boot.wim and install.wim are the x64 editions. -
-
If your MD5 sums don't match the file may have been corrupted and you can try downloading it again.
-
the x32 install.wim file is only showing as (753 bytes) after I download it.
Is there a reason why it's showing that? -

All Links Are Now Fixed And Working (tested)
-
-
Ok, they're working for me now.
Thanks for all the help. -
Okay, sorry for the noob question, but I'm confused. I downloaded everything & all of the sizes match orev's md5 sums except for the x13 exe file for x64. Both of the exe files for 32 & 64 are the same size. Am I missing something?
-
-
Thanks for the reply. Orev's 64 bit md5 sum for that file threw me, that's all.
-
Many thanks to all that have contributed here. I have what appears to be a working 64 bit ISO file. So a couple more questions if I may:
1. What should the final size of the ISO be? I'm at 3.52 gb & that seems right, can someone confirm?
2. I noticed that someone alluded to choices of an "N" version on their disk & that those versions don't have WMP or Media Center incorporated. What would be the downside to choosing that version? I'm assuming that Media Player can be downloaded from Windows Update, so I'm wondering if choosing a version without Media Center incorporated would have less bloat. Thoughts? -
Hello everybody,
Downloaded boot.wim and X13-49120.exe
Cannot download x32 install.wim.
When click the link a window open and nothing happens
Any idea?
Appreciate you help -
It was just created to comply with the EU's anti trust settlement with microsoft -

Links Were Down,
They Are Now Fixed -

Since our key will only work with a specified version of Vista (I assume). How do we know which version these links are for? FWIW I have Vista Home Premium x32, I want to install Vista Home Premium x64 - I bought the upgrade from Home Premium x6 to Ultimate but I need to get my current config to Home Premium x64 first.

wow!! its a record
the links have been working for a whopping 7 days -
I spoke too soon
Links are all now fixed thanks to yasdaz -
Why is it, when I download the 64bit files, and I try to install
vista, it says its 32bit??? it can not upgrade my vista x64 system
Anyone else get this problem??? -
-
I thought the installation and boot files were interchangeable and when I tried to make a 64 bit disk, I kept getting a 32 bit one. Once I made sure I used the boot and installation files from the 64 bit files, the disk turned out correctly. I don't know if that helps but that was a mistake I made, lol!

-
Those download is same as the the retail copy?
-
Yes, they are from a licenced Microsoft reseller and are the same Vista as you would buy in the store.

Guys,
For some reason, my 64 bit installation freeze immediately after I entered product key (initial setup stage). I tried to burn another media, but it would not help.
I'm trying to install it on Lenovo x61 tablet.
I really appreciate any help.
Thank you
PS. Nevermind. Looks like both, IE and Opera corruped install.wim during transfer. Reget helps. -
When I try to install the windows, it said some file is missing.. Is there any way to fix it?
-
Can I use my Vista Business key (the one that came with my Vaio) with this?
-
Tinderbox (UK) BAKED BEAN KING
Hi.
I have heard that vista64 can bsod or freeze, when made with vlite if you have 4GB, you have to remove 2GB and re-install.
My vlite made vista64 installed fine with my 4GB though.
Vlite seems very buggy, keeps on freezing and bsod when intergrating.
I have made vista32sp1, works great, but i cannot get vista64sp1 to works keeps BSOD when converting.
Regards
John.

Thanks for the answer!
I got a few more questions if you don't mind.
Do you put the key found from Magical Jelly Key Finder or from what's written on the back of the notebook?
It became Vista Business, correct? Not downgraded or anything?
100% legal? Pass Win Genuine Check and able to do Windows Update?
Sorry, I just want to be more clear on things I'm not sure about. -
No worries - very vaild questions. Though I have read otherwise elsewhere (Orev's clean install thread) - the key inside the laptop did me no good on either my Sony nor the Dell I did right before (which I later returned). I used the key on the bottom of the laptop. And both times, it did not work during the Vista install, I activated online afterwards with no problems.
Yes, I have Business and I re-installed Business. That is perfectly legal with this procedure - and it is a "Genuine" copy - you would have read it here already if it was something otherwise! -
Thank you for the answer.
I'll try it out too then, after I finish downloading the files (so big with a slow connection).
Working Legal Vista Download Links (Nice Try, but you still need a key!)
