Thanks for the reply GB.

I checked the cable packaging and it say's "compliant with displayport 1.1". Good news for me!

Now I know my cable should carry audio, it should be a matter of driver or HDTV settings.

Could someone tell me what driver settings he uses to output audio via displayport?
