I just got the new supertalent dura drive
www.mydigitaldiscount.com Browse By Brand:Super Talent:Super Talent ZIF SSD Solid State Drives:Super Talent 2.5 Inch MLC DuraDrive ZT2 Series SSD Category

I have a pretty old VAIO (TZ91NS), I first had the Renice K3VLAR SSD. It runs perfect on a desktop but on laptop, the PATA to SATA bridge didn't work as good as I expected. I wasn't able to get UDMA 2 problem.

To solve it, I got it exchanged to a Supertalent drive. It's much better, cheaper as well :D

I think for compatibility + price, it is better to get the SuperTalent drive :D I'm using it and benchmark shows promising. I don't need it to be super flawless... but at least a worthwhile upgrade :D! and I got it hehe

Great to hear you have the SuperTalent ZT2. Agreed, it's a great price. I actually contacted SuperTalent to get controller details for it, but their marketting dept claimed they did not have to disclose such detail to end users :/ I'm hopeful it benchmarks well and uses a reputable controller. To help identify those two details, can you please provide the following:

    * CrystalDiskInfo screenshot of the ZT2 details
    * CrystalDiskMark bench results of the ZT2

So, given a choice between the supertalent masterdrive, duradrive, renice, or runcore, what you choose? I'd like it to be under $150.00. I'm using XP and have a Samsung 5400 120GB drive.

See http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...-1-8-zif-pata-ssds-available.html#post6861746 for a comparison, the recommended ones in yellow & green. The Renice ones coming with a ZIF USB enclosure. K3VLAR-E being excellent value.

Does the Duradrive come with a case so that I can image my drive on it before installing?

I bought a Super Talent Masterdrive GF series kinda by accident, not realizing it wasn't the ZT2. Anyone have any experience with it?

I'm trying to do a fresh install, but the drive isn't recognized. I don't have a drive to start from as I bought the 430 sans a drive. So I'm thinking I have to clone it somehow and then install it. At least that's what's being recommended. Wondering if I can clone my E4200 drive and just insert and go with a few driver changes.

I just picked up this enclosure for $10 on ebay. Will actually use the rubber surround on the drive in the 430 after all is said and done.
