Lancorp, thanks for your quick answer!
1)Would yoi please clarify? What i'm looking for is the exact info of what's inside, i.e. (i assume) 1 full and 2 half minicard slots and 5 wireless antenna cords, even for non-fully-factpry-loaded models. Am i correct?

Those are the correct slot types, but mine is factory loaded, so I opened another one that was less equipped, and from what I can see, the empty WWAN slot is pre-cabled, and the UWB slot has one blue wire ready to attach. Also, the WLAN slot with the Intel 5100 had the extra (3rd) wire for a 3-wire 5300, so all told, I'd say the Z600 comes prewired for all options.

    Hope that helps.

No problem! Not sure you can send a PM as you don't have enough posts, and you have your "contact by email" setting turned off, so I cannot email you either... :(

You guys think the 256gb will be sold for around 800 after coupon again? All I see are 128gb version selling for 1000 before coupon.

The supply of 256GB Z's in the Outlet is slim-to-none. Also, last time I checked, you could not buy a NEW Z600 with a 256GB SSD...only 64 or 128. Must be a supply issue with 256GB SSD's.

I might be able to help you out, though. I will try to PM you. ;)

I just recently bought one of these from the outlet. The model I got has the small 64GB SSD. I understand a second hard drive can be added to this, and I plan on doing that.

I was wondering if there were any special type of SSD's I would need to get for this or would any standard 1.8" SSD work.

    Thanks

As far as I know, it's a standard 1.8" SSD, without any casing, and uses the micro sata connector. Dell ships with the 256GB encrypted SSD's, but the 600 does not require it and unless you need it, I suggest you skip encryption. I had a 256GB SSD from a Z600 that I got locked out of due to a firmware update that invalidated my password, and Dell was unable to do anything (and, had to get special permission to replace it, since passwords are not covered under warranty).

Just be sure the SSD is just the circuit board...no casing.

Thanks Lancorp, that's what I was confused about. I saw in the manual the hard drives didn't have a casing. I didn't know they made hard drives without the casing.
