After a long history of repairs(4 mainboards because of defective nvidia-graphics in 6 month) I replaced my XPS M1210.
One week since I got mine from Dell Germany:

    ~1650€ (2100$)

This mixed german/english diescription is what Dell presents to me in the shop...

E-Port Plus, second 4GB Ram and SSD are coming soon.
Does anybody has some recommendations which 4GB RAM to use to upgrade to 8GB?

As far as I used it yet it performs very well.
Only the keyboard is flexing a bit and the fingerprint reader takes sometimes some seconds to initialize.
The LCD seems to have a dead pixel but sometimes it works. Need to take a look at this.

Yes, on paper, but Windows 32-bit doesn't. jasperjones explains it correctly. Very few programs/games uses the flag. So far, games, don't need more than 2GB, hence why they are not pushing a 64-bit version. I believe Crysis is the exception, and maybe 1-2 other games.

You can upgrade later, and RAM will be much cheaper by then. 4GB you can heavy multi-task with a virtual environment just fine.

True, but nothing drastic... should be about 30min less, depending on what you do (the Nvidia solution has a power management system, it will increase it's clock up to it's normal speed depending on what you do... so it be more than 30min... but using just Aero in Windows, and not using Flip3D, then it should be fine at about 20-30min less compared to the Intel solution)

MKV seems to be a container for different video formats. I wonder if the real video content is Flash, which is rendered by the CPU. You should be able to figure out what is happening by checking the CPU performance (I would use RMclock's monitoring page) while running the video. If the video is being rendered by the GPU then the CPU should not be fully loaded.

People run dual monitors with the E6400 + E-port plus so I would expect the E6410 can also do it. However, there might be an issue with how the monitors are connected.

Has anyone attempted to install a 1TB 2.5" HDD into the drive bay? It looks like it could fit with some modifications. I don't use the smart card reader, so I was thinking of removing it for the extra height needed for the taller HDD.

I think you will need to use a hacksaw or milling machine to create enough space. Can you make do with a 750GB HDD for a few months? They are available in 9.5mm height.

The 1TB HDDs (and some of the 750GB models) use 3 platters resulting in a 1/2" (12.5mm) HDD thickness. The vast majority of 2.5" HDDs are 3/8" (9.5mm) thick. And I read that one of the manufacturers is proposing a 7mm thick HDD which uses only one platter and would enable thin notebooks to be even thinner.

I received mine yesterday. I don't have an opinion on it yet, because it takes a VERY long time for me to finish setting up my laptops because I'm so particular about everything. I hope to finally have all my favorite programs and things installed by tonight.

Core i5, 4GB RAM, Intel graphics, WXGA+, 160GB Drive (upgraded it to 640GB with my spare HDD), and I also upgraded it to Wireless N.
