And yet I'm using the intel GPU. :)
Tried to watch a different movie last night (with DXVA on) and it was splotchy and corrupt looking. I'm gonna try a different program, but it ran (simultaneously, audio from laptop and video on desktop, since I didn't feel like moving the speaker plug) just fine on the desktop.

I agree, although the effective dividing line between 32-bit and 64-bit Windows is probably 3GB of RAM.

Personally, I've played around with a few consumer notebooks with 64-bit Windows and 4GB of RAM, and they feel decidedly more sluggish than my notebook with 32-bit Windows 7 and 3GB of RAM. I personally don't think that the difference can by entirely explained by the slightly lower end i5 processors and bloatware in the typical consumer notebooks. It seems as if 64-bit Windows requires a bit more RAM.

I'm inclined to say that I'll make the 64-bit switch when I upgrade to 8GB or RAM. Until then, it isn't worth the potential headaches.

Well, you might have just figured out why the first owner returned the notebook to Dell. It happens. Try driver upgrades, check for BIOS upgrades and if that doesn't do the trick, it might be time to send it back to the Outlet.

My E6410 can run streaming 1080P video for hours, and the case is cooler than when it's idle. The greater the processor load, the cooler it gets because the fan runs more often.

BIOS is current (got it right after the current one was released, did the update immediately), GPU driver is current. Kind've thinking [possibly bad GPU] too. Fortunately if so, it'd be a new CPU (easy as hell to swap with the socket exposed like it is) instead of a new mobo (PITA). :)

Well what can I say. The setup is made in 16-bit. Some people live in caves, others don't. Lucky the program is actually made in 32-bit :D

    Here you go:

    Enjoy! :D

Why would you use TinyUrl? For a download, it's desirable to see the entire url so you at least know the source and file extension type.

I am using my own server (as it's 3MB, and I want to remove it as soon as John gets it (hopefully he tells me)). I don't want to have this link found if someone search for the web site name.

If you wonder, it's a standard a .zip file, contains all the files of the program that has been installed by the installer.

I knew that: A setup file dated 1997 isn't encouraging. But it shows the problem that people can be up against.

Is it flash based? Flash is very CPU-intensive.

Downloaded, but I haven't yet tried to get it to work.

Your extracted version seems to work under Win7-64. What's the technique for extracting the files from the setup packages? Or did you install under 32-bit and copy the folder?
