I'm a high resolution junkie after the UltraSharp 1440x900 panel in my D630 so the UltraSharp panel option on the e6420 would have to be a must. I find myself craving even more space sometimes...I could easily go with a higher resolution panel in my D630 if one was made. :)

The 14.0" 1600x900 is very similar to the 14.1" 1440x900 display that has been available on the Latitude for years. The 14" HP EliteBook and Toshiba Tecra transitioned to 16:9 aspect ratio displays last year and both of them offer the option to upgrade to 1600x900 (from the standard 1366x768). The ThinkPad T420, which is due by the end of this month, will offer a choice of the two 14.0" also. I'm glad to see that the Latitude E6420 will follow suit!

    I completely disagree. 1600x900 on a 13.3" - which is smaller than the 14" - is a great resolution. 1920x1080 on a 15.6" is also great.

I have good eyes and prefer greater pixel density. I have a lot of people that disagree with me.

    Time to upgrade my E6410 to a E6420. :)

I speced out a E6420, i7-2720QM, 2GB, nVidia graphics, 250gb 7200 RPM, fingerprint reader, webcam, Bluetooth, 1600x900 screen, backlit for 1383. Going to get a quote from our Dell rep to maybe knock that down a little.

Get a new SATA III SSD and life will be good.... :)

mvalpreda - do some user review as soon as You get your laptop. I'm always surprised of how much useful user reviews are. Many times they mention things that are ommited in regular reviews.

    Thanks in advance. Chris

Anyone know if the hdd port and the cd/bay ports are both SataIII (6gbps)? This would be a big selling point for me as I'd like to setup some raid0.

    Thanks!

Anybody knows what the difference is between

NVIDIA NVS 4200M (35W) Discrete Graphics
NVIDIA NVS 4200M (45W) Discrete Graphics

    Both have the same price...

    And the discounts begin!

The E6420 is already marked down $341, from $1040 to $699.

I wonder if the discounts are retroactive for the people who've already ordered?
