    Hi!
My E6500 recently started to make noise. The noise is coming from cooling fan. When fan is off there is no noise, when fan starts to spin at low speeds there is no noise, but when it starts to spin on high speeds there is a clicking noise. I took the bottom lid off and cleaned everything with a air-duster, but noise is still there.
Is this a fixable problem or will I need to get new cooling fan? Where can I order one? The sticker on the fan says "DP/N 0YP387"

Dell tech support page is very confusing - I couldn't find phone number for tech support and online chat doesn't seem to be working

    Please advise,
    Thank you!

If it's a problem with the fan itself (and it most likely is, since you've dusted it out and all), it's an easy problem to fix. The fan is easily replaceable and Dell should fix it under warranty. If you don't want to go through customer support, you could try to replace the fan on your own. I couldn't find a fan on eBay, but there's a couple you can buy through Google shopping, though they're fairly expensive for a fan.

im assuming its no longer under warranty?

anyway, the fan is of a bearingless design, so its cant be a worn bearing, i wonder if there is some debris inside making the noise or a rougue but of glue.
