    Hi,
I am after a notebook for work, basicly just nice and fast but i play games maybe an hour a week, although its not much i still want to be able to play all the new games. I dont want to pay the extra for the 3700m so im left with the choice of the alienware m17x or the Precision. Because its for work and trying to look perfessional i dont think the alienware fits but if the 2700 wont game it will have to do.
    Any opinions?
    Cheers

It'll definately be sufficient for most games. :)

Ok, Thanks. Would it compare to a single 8800gtx?
    Cheers

You can't compare desktop cards to notebook cards. Desktop cards are still far superior at the top end of the performance spectrum. The FX 2700M is based off the 9700M GTS, which is at the bottom end of the high performance cards. Check my link if you want to compare specs with other notebook GPUs.

I was comparing it to the dual 8800gtx's in my M1730, most the games i play at the moment cant use sli and run fine with justthe one card.
I think im going for the 3700 now anyway

The 8800M GTX is the same as the 9800M GT, and a single one beats the 9700M GTS and FX 2700M by quite a bit. While the FX 3700M is faster than the 9800M GTX but worse than the GTX 280, which is a little better than a single 8800M GTX. Hope that gives you reassurance of your purchase.
