Yeah.... looking to chrome the speaker grills :D

On a more serious note are all the PCIexpres slots equal, or do they only work with the designated description (i.e. the Wifi one is a half size, while the WAN one is a full size)

The connector is no different between half size and full size, however, sometimes mpci-e slots aren't wired for PCI-E, only USB. wifi is always pci-e, so the only port in question is the full size one. You can plug in the wifi card in there and if it works, then you have 2 fully functional mpci-e ports. If it doesn't then you only have 1 (the half size slot ironically).

    Update:
Just returned the X9100, it works fine, but the E6400 cannot manage it's maximum potential, let alone it's overclock potential.
I've used throttlestop, but in order to prevent the Dell throttling i need to undervolt and use 9x multiplier maximum for sustained full power.
Short quicker bursts are fine (even up to 3.6Gz) but with a sustained load this will within 5mins cause overheating and hardware throttling, eventually not making me able to leverage this CPU at it's full potential (or i need to make different profiles for sustained load and short peaks, which is just too much hassle) so a P9700 (28TDP) should be on it's way shortly and hopefully that one can function with normal Win7 powermanagement without any hardware throttling. As much as i appreciate Throttlestop, it's just not me, manually tweaking applets and switching between profiles, i just want factory plug&play "set it and forget it" without thinking about i need to switch profile, as my next hour of usage might be CPU intensive, or clock lower full stop, but then i don't need a 45TDP 3Ghz beast

sounds like a much better option. did that happen even with copper shims for the graphics?

Yes, the E6400 can't handle a X9100 full speed for sustained loads (+5mins)
    hardware throttle kicks in.
max i could get out of it sustained was 1.075v @ 2800Mhz that would work, but why then settle with a x9100 if you can get the same with half the heat output and lower vid with a p9700? without tinkering with utils like throttlestop

dosent a T9900 have a 35w TDP while having the same clock speed as the x9100?

Yes, but i'm pretty sure the 35w 3Gh doesn't cut it either on the E6400
so cool and quiet is really where i want to be. rather have 200mhz less and no toolswith manual profiles than 3Ghz and throttling lurking around the corner

Did get my new SAMSUNG WXGA SEC5441, bit more blueish than the previous one, but a lot more brightness. Impressed with Dells no nonsense service
New screen, new front bezel new cover with different inverter, nice new hinges because of that, laptop looks and feels like new!
