is it true that dells complete cover and theft is B.S.

all i was basically asking is if anyone had any experience personally , dell sales rep can sell me the world and we all know they talk sh it as needed to get sales

all im worried about is do i pay an extra few hundred then get screwed out of it aswell as my machine if something bad happened

 

This isn't a Dell rep. This is a written contract. Are you just looking for a reason to be mad at Dell?

 

You have to be logical as well. If Dell offered such service... soooooooo many laptop would magically disappear to get the latest and greatest from Dell. Using your own house insurance, it's kinda difficult as what you pay per month or year will increase after the first loss of this laptop, and will be on you to ensure that the laptop is really lost.

So, no sane company will offer such service, especially that your home insurance offer a plan level that protects laptops thief even when lost outside home.

 

DELL DOES PROVIDE THEFT COVERAGE, IF PURCHASED, IN THE UK. Get it? Got it? Good.

i simply asked a question on a forum section dedicated to a company im looking to buy my 8th machine from !

however this being the most expensive and me travelling around more i wanted to know if anyone had any first hand experience

indeed i do , i would like to know how you can tell if someone is angry via there written word on the internet , please explain ?

if u need a reminder none of this bothered me i was just worried that i may have payed for something and it turns out if the worst comes to the worst im out of pocket as it has happened to me before with mobile phone insurance and i lost my 4 month old iphone 3g 16gb due to someone trying to mug me , however instead of passing it to him i smacked him with it an because it wasnt actually "stolen" despite my best efforts of stopping the attempted theft all i ended up with was a banana shaped iphone and was told by the insurer it doesnt count as it hadnt been stolen even though i had a crime reference number as i still had the phone albeit in bits ....

so i had to use my trusty old n95 and waited it out till the 3gs came out


thats my reason for questioning if people had experience with the cover as i just want piece of mind especially by the time im finished upgrading the machine it will probably be upwards of £3000 , but iv cancelled the m6400 due to the lead time on the build getting longer and longer so i wil wait for the refreshed version instead
