Latitude E6400 Owner's Lounge

I was wondering about the support here in Germany. Perhaps they weren't as generous/nice as they normally are to me because I'm a private user? It might be they treat those differently?

Another thing I ponder about: the chat hasn't been available for me even once. It always says all technicians are occupied or the department is closed, but I always tried during office hours.

 

the chat NEVER worked for me too - i tried it 20 times i think .... i gave up on this one

P.S.: Dell told me to exchange the Display

 

Okay, then they probably don't have a chat guy in Germany or something.. tried it for like 30 times now..

 

I wrote Dell Support an email stating that I chose Dell because of its nice support but that I'm quite disappointed as I had only heard good things up till now. I simply had hoped that a technician would look into these problems, not necessarily swapping anything.
I wrote it very neutral and nice, no denounciating or anything. I hope this helps..

 

I'm a bit concerned about my idle temperatures:

CPU1 and 2 are usually between 45º and 50º C. GPU (Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M) is usually at 60ºC.

Are these normal?

My T9600 idles at 40ºC +- 5ºC.
(one of my cores shows 3-4ºC more than the other)

Ambient temperature is in the low 20's.

 

They're normal. Mine does about the same. Not sure about the exact ambient temperatures, but it's pretty warm here.

 

Forgot to say: my CPU is the P8400. GPU is Nvidia.

Can you confirm that these temps are normal (maybe a little higher than average, maybe a little lower, thats normal, but not outrageous)? For this CPU?

Also: Battery life on idle, brightness two clicks above minimum, monitor always on, aero and sidebar always on, with wireless and bluetooth always on, is around 3h45. Is this also good?

 

I have the same configuration. Likewise, similar temps. What're you getting at CPU or GPU load?
