    You need SATA.

    Mine's a 6 cell battery. Your's has 9 cell.

I've ordered these rubber bumpers as recommended by another member. However, they need to be made a bit thinner using a sharp knife.

Update: disabling the modular bay also solved the occasional "clicking" sounds I was having, which were present both with IDT and Vista drivers, and both on external speakers and on headphones. Sounds like the optical drive controller sucks. Any ideas? I think I will contact Dell to ask them how they plan to fix this.

My Pavilion laptop is almost completely unusable now, I switched from Dell a couple years ago after being frustrated with Dell's lack of innovation and terrible customer support. Well I regret to say that I now hate HP even more because it's non-durable junk.

So I'm coming back to Dell and about to buy an E6400 with the backlit keyboard (can't believe it took them this long to realize people REALLY wanted this) and a P9600 processor with WXGA+ panel. Do you guys generally like the E6400?

Also, is there anywhere I can find a Dell Small Business coupon? I've spent hours looking online and there seems to be only Inspiron or Dell Home coupons available. Do they just not issue DSB coupons any more?

I am delighted with it. Minor issues, but once those are solved it's a great laptop.

it's a great laptop. The only issue it has is a possible minor scratch (a line |) by the edge of a label on the palm rest with the screen frame... very minor... cosmetic issue, but the rest of the machine easily compensate for the problem. Some people says that the speakers sucks... yes they do, but it is a business laptop... so it was not design to add the party into your house parties... they are just basic laptop speakers. But the sound card output is pretty good for integrated sound card.

As you know the laptop has long battery life, supports 2 batteries as well for up to 19hours of battery life. Great (for a laptop) non-glossy display, backlit keyboard, eSATA, Display Port, easy to access, clean machine with no crapware, 64-bit Vista, 4GB of RAM option, powerful video card (for a laptop), LED backlit screen, quiet, solid machine with metal top and frame, Support with the Dell standard 65W PSU (system will slow down, ad wont' be able to recharge the battery, OR if the machine is off it will recharge the battery), so if one day you feel into a situation where your out of battery, and didn't bring the Power adapter with you, just ask around. And more! Oh and MINIMUM 3 year warranty with a professional tech guy that comes to your place with the part the next day (or any other day after that) at the time you want for also 3 years, makes a big statement saying it won't brake, or if it does... you are cover. If a machine replacement arrives, you get to keep your machine until you receive the new machine. Shipping both ways are paid. New machine always include a new battery, power adapter, and disks. And yes you can swap HDD between machines, no problem (i asked, they insisted in helping me out over the phone even thus I perfectly knew how to do it. Oh and no outsourced people except the sales department.)
