i am doubting it, as everything else installs properly. More likely it is some weird glitch having to do with win7, which may be reporting the processor in some different way? My real point though is that it shouldnt even be checking the processor, as it should be entirely irrelevant.

I assume that the TrueLife or Antiglare screens actually integrated into the LCD screen, not placed over it. Correct?

It's TrueLife OR Antiglare, not AND.

Antiglare screens are matt finish ones that do what their name says.

TrueLife screens are those with a special reflective coating that improves colour and contrast but suffer from horrible reflections from external lights.

I prefer antiglare screens since there are no reflections that make the screen hard or impossible to read or that can be extremely distracting.

Dell System Software is a collection of Windows patches that Dell has identified to be important. The file actually contains various MSU files. These must be first installed since they correct whatever problems that affect other software or drivers.

Don't download all the drivers; you may not need them all. In some cases the drivers on Dell's site are older than those available on the vendor's site. Intel is one such case.

I suggest you first identify all the hardware devices that need specific drivers and download only those from Dell's and from other sites.

The best price/performance/capacity drive on the market is the OCZ vertex. $200 for 60GB, $400 for 120GB. For $350 you can get the intel 80GB drive, which is faster but smaller. I wouldn't look at any drive but those 3, for the moment.

Anyone have any idea where I might find a good keyboard cover for the E6400? I've been hunting and cannot seem to find anything.

What do you mean? DO you mean a cloth to protect the screen from the keyboard (this should not be an issue for this laptop), or those plastic sheet that has the form of the keyboard to protect it again spills?

Either would be fine, I'm mostly concerned about when the notebook is closed. Perhaps a cloth would be a better option though.

I have not try them, so I don't know... but they read several people being satisfied them, and at the university computer store there is one and it looks good quality. Sadly, it is expensive.
