So I had my display kit changed today, because the screen lid was bended and the screen frame didn't hold properly. I guess it was a manufacture error when I got it and didn't last long. Anyway, so the display was not a Samsung nor LG... it was third one where the name doesn't come to mind. The image is so dam UGLY!!!!!! Blue's are super blue... white are off-white. The only difference is that the colors don't get washed out at max brightness. Visually speaking the min/max brightness was the same as the LG (visually speaking). And view angle was surprisingly lower. If it was food... I would have vomited on the floor.

I told the tech guy to keep my LG screen. The screen was switch and now I'm back with a normal, proper, descent display.
Even the tech guy was surprised how disgusting the image was, and yes we did check the connector to make sure it's properly connected.

I have had problems with burned generic Staples/Office Depot CDs before. When I tried to burn Ubuntu and the Windows 7 Beta, most of my burns failed for no reasons at all. I believe the discs are just terrible quality, and just don't work. It may not be your burner itself.

    Please don't tell me it's AUO 4047 (B141PW04).
Mine (AUO) is actually good. It's just the viewing angel little suck. Or was it CMO?

    CMO if I remember correctly.
View angle was really bad...like you tilt a little and it's like you tilt completely the screen.. it felt like the first gen LCD. Acer lowe end screen were much better. It was THAT BAD! An insult even for a Dell Inspiron line. I hope it was a manufacture error.

oh, thanks for quick reply. Well, I came across several people complaining about CMO displays too. Well, my view angle is not that bad, except sometimes I have to tilt several degrees to get the same contrast at the top as the bottom screen. Yea, it's little annoying, other than that, I am happy with my screen. Anybody has to do like me to view your screen????

PS - Sorry for my English. It's not my first language.

Yea, I got to the same on my LG. That's seams to be a problem with matte thin laptop displays. As better LCD would make them thicker with today technology I believe... or too expensive. Of course, this is just a guess.

I have an iPhone 3G and have lately noticed that after an update to BIOS v12 that it will no longer charge the iPhone when plugged into a USB logitech hub (it did so before).

Plugging the iPhone directly into another USB port charges it just fine.

Any ideas on workarounds or reasons?

there are some settings you can fiddle with re: power output on usb ports in the BIOS. flashing it may have reset them?

okay, two times now i have had battery drain issues and i have no idea what the heck is causing them.

as i said, twice now, after i shut down the laptop and close it, place it in its sleeve and in my backpack (one time in the car actually) (its OFF, shut down), which is NOT very hot, it drained from ~85-90% to the cutoff and 9-10%!!

What could be causing this? its driving me nuts.

also, is there anyway to calibrate the LG screen with a x4500?

    Thanks!
