I only have the 9-cell, and yes I saw what you experience.
    BIOS A15 doesn't change anything.

    Thanks.

It's interesting that no one had previously noted this difference in the charging behaviour between the two batteries.

It's probably because of a battery security things... like because the 9-cell is a 85Whr, it could be dangerous to charge it fast or at all when it's only 5% in use, or something.

Well, I know nothing about batteries, so I am only guessing.

I am just about to order my e6400 to replace my e4200 (need something larger I lost my home office to my second kid, so the kitchen table is where I work now)

Anyways, here is the question, I have telus WWAN card in my e4200 can I just move that over to the new laptop or do I need to order a new card in order to get the antenna's etc. On the e4200 you needed to order the card so you got the "wings" for the WWAN you could not order it as an after market part.

For my laptop (see signature, for specs) I had (excluding the first day where if your battery was just out of manufacturing you have a nice 9 hours), say about 8 hours - 8 hours and half, with the wireless ON, minimum brightness and nothing connected to the system, system idle, under Vista 64-bit. Now the battery degrade over time and stabilizes to 7 hours and half for the most time.

I have my laptop almost one year (in end November it will be a year), and now it's about 6 hours and half.

I am a full time university student, and I use my laptop battery school day. The battery last me well above a school day. 5 hours is what I really need. So I expect the battery to fit my needs for another half year.

I don't know WWAN.. never touched that.. but on my laptop I have 6 antennas wires. 1x for Bluetooth, 3x for wireless card (one of them is not being used as I have the Intel Wireless 5100), and I have 2 others which I think are WWAN.

The E6400 chassis is pre-wired and has antennae for all the configuration options. It will be very easy to change the card over as shown in the service manual.

Great thanks, that is what I was hoping for, I can just leave the card off the new laptop and move it from my e4200.
