I need a new laptop *now*, and among these 4 candidates, only one really fits the bill - the Latitude E6420, which is supposed to have USB 3.0 (and a better battery).

The problem is there's been no news about its release for the past 2 months. I asked a sales rep via the online chat and they said they had no information.

    Anyone?

Just stick with the E6410 for now. And I hope that article is true, and Dell is sticking with 16:10 and 14.1" screen.

Hime, give up, they're going 16:9 on the E6420. If I was a betting man, I'd say we're six weeks out before you can order these.

My dell rep said they will ship end of March. The last set of spec sheets I saw from him does not show USB 3.0 on the E6420

Interesting. Then an ExpressCard with USB3.0 ports may make up for this.

I'll never give up! Or more like I will refuse to buy 1368x768 for 14.1", unless they offer 900p.

Dell offered 14" 1600x900 before, on the Studio 14Z. If Dell thought that a consumer-grade laptop deserved 900p, I am 99.8% confident that they will offer this resolution on the Latitude E6420.

Well they better! 1368x768 is unacceptable on 14.1" notebook. I would much prefer 1280x800 than 1368x768.

I wouldn't really care for USB 3.0...for things that need extra speed (image backups), eSATA is already included and works great with a combo data/power cable. ;)
