The E6500 WXGA+ LED screen is gorgeous. One of the best I've seen. I believe it might be the same panel used in the previous generation Macbook Pro's.

I admit, I was a bit concerned myself with such a high resolution on such a small screen. However I've read that it scaled rather well too. Also, I just marvel at the thought of having that much real estate with me on the go.

I totally agree, the price you pay(sacrificing 1 extra lbs) is well worth it(screen real estate).

However I was wondering, would you mind posting a pic of what WUXGA looks like on 15.4''? I've read that it, and take word that it's not too small or strenuous on the eyes, but I was just curious to see. Also, have you used Windows 7 since? What OS do you mainly view on?

I'm sorry to have resurrected this thread, but I haven't bought the e6500 quite yet, I just might be doing it some time this month. My Thinkpad T41's mobo fan just kicked the can, so I'm without a laptop(I could order the part, but at this point, what's the point?...then again the new latitude revisions should be coming soon as Arrandale is due next month).

    1) i've now installed 7, and it DOES scale excellently.

    2) check out this thread and my screenshots on it

    3) if you can wait for arndale, go for it. but stocks are likely to be limited so delivery times might be ridiculously long. all depends on how urgently you need to purchase

Wow, it is certainly very crisp, I'll have to reference that thread should I get it, in order to scale the DPI settings right.

I've been contemplating whether or not to wait it out. I suppose it should only be about a month or so, but then again I feel as if my productivity is being held back without a laptop(I can only work when I'm at home, nailed to the desktop).

Made in Poland? What happened to Dell's factory in Malaysia. I thought that US people got their notebooks from Malaysia.

The factory in Poland serves the European market. It replaced the assembly line in Ireland.

Still, recent Dell laptops US people have gotten are no longer from Malaysia but from China. What happened to the special charter flight from Malaysia to Tennessee?

Wow this is news to me.

Didn't know that they moved from Malaysia to China.

As long as the build quality meets or exceeds the previous, I'm happy.
