Nope, it's considerably worse, I imagine the M4600 I have coming will be better despite having 2720 compared to an i5.
lenovo was $1500 cheaper than the dell in Aust/NZ, but to my surprise, they not only matched the price, but bettered it

well i just got confirmation from dell- its going to be the M4600...i guess i got lucky! im a bit disappointed about the screen, do you think i should ask for the RGBLED? but i think chances of them saying yes are slim as they are still giving me the option of taking back my old system i cant argue that the old screen had a higher gamut...so i guess im putting it on sale as soon as i receive it

Can you ask them if you can upgrade the screen and you will pay the difference?

    Hey afhstingray

What exactly was wrong with the SD card reader on the M4400?

    Which OS were you on?

Which BIOS version were you on?

Did the techs try re installing the OS and drivers?

    Thanks

Were all the drivers the latest from dell's website? Also, which version of Windows7 were you running?

Reason I'm asking so many questions is that I too am experiencing some intermittent SD card reader problems. I enjoy my m4400 but the SD card reader has really pissed me off over the last several months forcing me to use an external reader.

yes i always make sure things are up to date. mine was intermittent too, but most of the time it didnt work. dell captured the system for testing and tested it for 2 weeks and was stumped. if u have the same situation i suggest calling them, that is if you're still under warranty. PM me if you want more details, no point bringing a old thread back from the dead
