    Ha, they're like buses

No problems so far, but then again A15 and A16 were perfect for me.

yea A15 was really good. I only had A16 for a couple of hours before i updated to A18.

hopefully the thermals are even better than A15 now.

this model must be one of the top for bios updates lol. reached A18 in only about a year lol....

Since I updated to A18 my fans are on most of the time.

    Anyone has experienced something similar?

Everything's pretty much the same except for one very annoying issue. My eSATA ext. HDD just keeps randomly disconnecting. Regardless of whether it's in use or idling it'll just drop out, even during copying from that disk. Any ideas what that could be?

What are your idle temps using A18? I've got the T9600 and at idle i'm seeing around 45 deg c. I do notice that I hear a slight bit of fan noise. Not sure if it was there before the bios upgrade or not.

I updated to A16 a few days ago (with the hope of fixing the ambient light sensor issue) and I came here today in search of a solution to a fan issue. For me, the fan kicks in when the machine is idle. I checked and the Indexing service seems to be what's causing it to come on. When I disable that, it's fine. But with it enabled, the fan will run constantly when the machine is idle.

I guess I'll try updated to A18, but I wanted the the other poster to know that at least one person saw this fan stuff start up with A16.

Update: A18 hasn't fixed the fan issue--it runs all the time, and it runs most when the machine is idle.

I'm not noticing anything different going from A15 to A18. I'll keep an eye on it....I use coolers all the time btw.
