Judging by the picture of the underbody, 9 cells should fit in that space. I'm not sure where else the cells could be positioned otherwise because the battery compartment is in the front, and off-centered.

On the M4600 the only way to have RAID 0/1 is with a 128GB SSD MiniCard + 128GB 2.5" SSD. All other configurations are non-RAID on the M4600.

Cool, thanks. I guess I'm going IPS then. Do you think there will ever be a multitouch version of the FHD screen?

I'm hoping to get this laptop before I leave the country for a trip in June. Any chance that it'll be available by ~5/20?

    Hey havoctex :)

Could you tell us when to expect the FHD wideview screen(assuming this is the IPS in rumor) for the M6600? Thx.

Sorry to butt in. I believe the IPS screen will be available upon release for the M4600. If you're asking about the M6600, I'll leave that to havoctex :p.

Well that is great news about the battery. THanks for the replies.

I am looking for a new dual boot linux/windows and I think this is going to be my next work computer.

The only real downer seems to be the screen resolution being 16:9.

The big decision is going to be 15 vs 17. I currently have a 17 and dislike the bulk, but 1080p on a 15 is a bit much so I am on the fence.

Is there really any reason worth waiting for ivy bridge? Does anyone know how far out that will be?

Which would be worse than stupid for a RAID0 configuration. It does make a minimal amount of sense for RAID1, giving a bit of additional safety against hardware failure, but that's still a serious waste of money in this case.
