I'm trying to customize my system and I think I have everythign ready except for this:

I assume "Touch Screen or RGB" is referring to the screen type it's available for, just not very well clarified. Why is the webcam+mic cheaper than just a mic?

Also, I don't have any experience with IPS screens, is it worth the extra $370 on the m4600?

M6600,I7-2820QM,8gb Ram, M8900 Fire Pro, Full-Hd (it seems to be the white led version), 3 Year Warranty for about 2100 € inc shipping.
Hd is only 500gb/720rpm but i am going to by a crusial c300 aftermarket anyway.

what do you think? Should i go with the offer?

I was trying to find out how much a separate memory upgrade would cost, and noticed the following for the M6600:
    - Up to 12GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333Mhz - 4 DIMMS
    - Up to 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1600Mhz - 4 DIMMS

    I have three questions -
    Are these 204-pin SO-DIMMs?
Assuming they are, what manufacturers produce 4GB 1600MHz SO-DIMMs?
Why is there a difference in the maximum memory depending on its speed?

(Crucial have 4GB 1333Mhz SODIMMS for £28+VAT, but don't seem to make 1600Mhz ones.)

Yes, DDR3 SO-DIMMs are 204-pin. It's just marketing from Dell and memory resellers since you can get 16GB DDR3-1333 in your laptop (after market). If you want to upgrade memory, do it yourself and just get the cheapest reputable brand (lifetime warranty) - don't worry about the speed.

Urk, I hate that 16:10 screens are dying.

I have the dell m6400, and have seen the alienware M17x R2
The alienware is build like a tank, much heavier, but also much more rugged than the precision. Very solid metal lid. I could not flex the lid of the alienware. You could wield it as a club to kill someone. Note: the 15" alienware has a plastic lid.

    Dunno about the newer alienwares
