    No, you do not need a business; individuals can purchase from the Small Business site.

    Aren't the instant savings always there?

    Allright, thanks. I'm tired of the HP Envy circus I've been through lately so I'm done with it and just want a laptop that works for once.

    I don't know, I've never looked at their business notebooks before.
    But if it's basically an Alienware without the spaceship look, then it's exactly what I'm looking for, and if you can even get an IPS panel, then I'm sold. Savings or not.

    Yea, the limited time deals are usually the free upgrades. Otherwise, the instant savings stay roughly the same (+-$40)

    I am an IT professional who needs a workstation-class laptop for both pre-sales demos and post-sales support for several multi-tier applications. I also travel a lot and am often on a plane for many, many hours; thus, I need a system with long battery life. I am deciding between a Dell Precision M4600 and an HP Elitebook 8560w and the Dell actually looks better. The only thing I am worries about with the Precision M4600 (and at this point the only reason I may go wit the HP) is how long will it run on battery power.

    I need something that will last for an entire 5 hour coast-to-coast trip and even an occasional 8-hour (or more) international flight. With the HP, I can get an 100w extended battery slice that I can add to included (optional) 85w "built-in" battery; giving me about 185w of battery power total. Can I get something like that with the new Dell Precision M4600?

    @WLT
    Since there are no Precision M4600 reviews about battery live, and HP Elitebook 8560w is a "Coming Soon", maybe try consider a Thinkpad W520? According to reviews, it can holds up to 8 hours on "built-in" battery, even with power-hungry i7-2920XM.

    Shouldn't the planes have an energy plug for laptops? :confused:

    That is not consistent per airline. Even the same number of plane may have outlets on some and not others for the exact same type of plane. Airlines can choose to have their planes configured in certain ways.

    You can use something like Airline Seating Charts - Best Airplane Seats - SeatGuru to check your flight number and see if it's available. However, you are FAR better off something that you know has long battery life since that is under your control and not some random plane you are flying. This is why the Sandybridge equipped laptops are so game changing for traveling professionals.

    In my experience it depends on the airline, seating class, even the individual model of plane. Plus, if you're not in business class, dealing with the energy brick and its cord snaking around a cramped seating space can be a pain. That alone makes me hesitant to even get my computer out on some trips. Better to know that you can take out your laptop and have juice for all or most of the trip no matter what plane you get on.

    Does anyone know if the internal drive ports/interfaces will be SATA II or SATA III?

    Thanks.
