Did you ever fix this? If so, what was your solution?

Does the m6600 fit snugly with the mobileEdge sleeve and the screen does not open up if the machien were to be standing vertical as if it's in a trolley backpack ?

Do post a photo. Which model you ordered. I was thinking of SFBags.com but they are kind of pricey

Back in the 90's i still remembered this trick to save an old 7.3GB SCSI RAID disk by placing it at the floor vents of the server room or a freezer for extreme cases. Make it really cold and then quickly boot it up as secondary hdd or an external HDD enclosure to extract vital data out before it completely crashes.

Unfortunately most of the time it didn't work ! Good thing with SSD is as most manufacturer claims, if the SSD is dead, we can still read from it but not write to it.

That's not at all what my question was. I wanted to know how he fixed the interaction issues between mSATA drives and "spinning" hard drives in his Precision M6600.

I replaced the old Seagate drive. The HDD itself was in the process of physically failing and that is what caused the issue. Sort of like when old iPods went bad - their drives was spin up, click, and spin down.

Do the 900p screens look 'grainy' to anyone else? I can still see the black lines between pixels at 2ft away.

WTH, VGA port?!?? really?? can we get out of the 90s please...

Why does the primary HDD have a spot on the side to slide it in/out?

EDIT: figured out the HDD tray...
The keyboard will take a little getting used to, its a lot bigger than the one on my m860tu...
The m6600 feels lighter than my m860tu...
I like that dell put the COA sticker under the battery.
Do all systems come with blutooth?

Great! Thanks. I am considering going the mSATA route for my primary drive and I wanted to know about any potential issues before doing so.

    Thanks again!

Hello! I just bought a full blown i7 quad core, 4000M, 32GB M6600 from the NBR marketplace. This thing is SERIOUSLY FAST..

I really do not have the luxury to read 358 pages (kids are crying at the moment) but is there any tweak or issue that I should know about?

Glad to join the owners lounge. I picked this baby up for a bargain.

So I just got my M6600, and I have it sitting all by itself over there on the table, running software installs/updates. Now if you watch it closely, every few minutes you'll see the little diamond cursor pop up and click somewhere on the screen. It's particularly noticeable when it happens to click on "Cancel" when installing or updating the larger software packages, as it did with CS5 (grumble).

Has anyone else seen this behavior? Is it just set to be so sensitive that it's picking up dust falling on it, or is it a lemon screen? If someone has already posted about this before, I did try to do some searches, but couldn't think of how to describe it in such a way that I got any results.

    Thanks!
