If you have the IPS panel, no.

    Any other panel, yes.

Also make sure to get the newest video drivers on the Dell site.

I think I know the answer to this question. Intel Vpro is something that can't be added later, correct?

They replaced our flickering M6600 that has vpro with a M6600 without vpro. .. Vpro is something we wanted to try out.:(

Someone tell me that vpro is awful..:D

They did the same to me when the replaced my first one. I called and complained and they gave me a proper replacement. If the first replacement had had any sort of upgrade I wouldn't have complained. As it was it was less than what I had ordered.

    I'm a weary man.
    1. M6600 had a bad touch screen , tech replaced the screen but they scratched it up. it went back . Ordered number 2.
    2. M6600 came in with a bad video card. replaced by number 3.
    3. M6600 came in with a flickering LG panel. replaced by 4.
    4. M6600 came in with a flickering LG panel. LG screen , has vpro. No touch screen, 2720QM CPU. replaced by 5.
    5. M6600 has no vpro, BUT has a AUO touch screen and a better CPU, the 2760QM..
I'll talk to the boss...touch screen , better AUO panel, and better CPU are nice upgrades. I wonder if the touch screen will be used that much though. Whereas vpro is something we chatted about and thought it would be useful.

The Intel graphics doesn't support the 10-bit-per-color output that the IPS panel uses so you're stuck with NVIDIA only if you get the IPS panel.

Depends. The IPS panel is generally regarded to have the best color and also a very wide viewing angle. If you want the best screen that you can get, then get the IPS.

Myself, I'm not a graphics professional so the extra battery life that Optimus brings is a little more interesting than the IPS panel.

Also --- you must have Optimus enabled to use more than two displays if you get the M6600 with one of the NVIDIA cards. I haven't heard for sure but I believe that if you get the IPS panel, you'll be limited to using it plus one external display (or maybe two external displays with the built-in display disabled). If you think you might like to use three or more displays at once, something to think about.

    +1

Its a trade off. What is important to you? I chose the IPS screen. Its better than my U2410 and that is saying a lot.
