Real world difference? Maybe ever so slightly to be honest but I'd get a regular 2.5 inch ssd for future computers if you swap.

And as I pointed out, your basing your dated opinion on an old system and provided cons to a system that are no longer true.

Its ok to admit your information may no longer be accurate, things change.

I can't believe it. Having problems with the new M6600 replacement. I'm livid. This thing is practically unused. Been sitting in the conference room cabinet for a long time. I took it our today to load Office on it so one of the engineers can take it out for awhile. The curser is buried on the left side of the screen. I can move it with the touchpad, but when I let go it goes right back to the left side. It was unusable. I could not get the touch screen to work either. I thought it was a virus. Scans showed nothing. I loaded a backup image of the C drive, and same thing.

The virtual keyboard won't close either. Could it be a stuck key?

I then went all out and did a clean install of the Win 7 OS with the Dell disc. Same thing. No drivers have been loaded yet at all after I did the clean install. The weird thing is while in the microsoft Win 7 setup menus, the curser worked OK . While in the bios, the curser works. What the heck?

Get off your high horse. I believe both replies to your original post pointed out that the 2012 models may be different. Unfortunately, with the exception of the backlit KB, everything stated is still true.

    Runs hot? Check.
    Louder? Check.
    Plastic? Check.
    No touchscreen? Check.
    No mSATA? Check.
Additional cost for 3 year warranty? Check. (It's also $249, not $149 for the model you are referring to)
    Lack of on-site support? Check.
Dead pixel guarantee upgrade fee? Check.

As a matter of fact, here is there standard dead pixel policy:

    Dead Pixel Policy
MALIBAL will replace the LCD of a notebook that is under warranty, if there are either 6 or more dead (black) and/or hot (colored) pixels or a combination of the two types of defective pixels that total 6 or more.

Dell will replace an LCD for much less that this.

I could go on, but I won't. If you want a Clevo then go right ahead and buy one. I think you will find that most here will consider it an inferior machine, though they do have an enticing price point. I'd also like to point out that the KB does not have a full size number pad.

I'm sure it's a beast of a machine, but it's just not a business class laptop.

Did you try Fn-F5 to disable the built in touchpad and pointer? One may be defective and/or stuck. If not, disable both and try an external mouse. You may also want to disable touch and pen input to see if it is a problem with the touchscreen constantly registering a touch in that vicinity.

External mouse does the same thing. I think you are correct. It's registering a touch on the left side for some reason. I can get it to move a bit by hitting the spot where the touch screen is registering a hit. I can't believe it.

damn, that's it. I was able to turn off the touch by hand, and no more curser problems. Must be another bad touch screen. I'll try driver updates, but I seriously doubt it will fix it.

let's see now. M6600 with bad video card, M6600 with flickering two of those, m6600 with bad touch screen, now two of those.

I seem to recall some talk about bluetooth causing problems with the touch screen. anyone remember that?

I guess you bought it from the outlet? Cause it would be cheaper and less of a hassle to just configure it with the IPS screen and camera.
