    If all you wish to do is go from 900p to 1080p, then you already have everything needed except the display panel itself. Your existing LCD cable and backplate will work fine. These LED backlit panels do not need or use an inverter.

    No, the IPS is a different story. The LG LP173WF3 LCD is not easy to get and the additional parts (see below) make the effort not worth it at this time. There are no M6600 devoted parts web sites; just eBay sellers and the Dell parts vendors in TX

    Scott-

    Back Cover (deeper than standard version in order to support interposer board)
    DP/N: 0772MN

    Bezel (to support the deeper back cover)
    DP/N: 03T52W

    Interposer Board
    DP/N: 075V7G

    Video cable #1 (from interposer to motherboard)
    Non-Dell Factory P/N: 350409A00-09M-G

    Video cable #2 (from interposer to panel)
    Non-Dell Factory P/N: 350409800-600-G

    IPS RGB Panel (LG Display)
    Non-Dell Factory P/N: LP173WF3 (SL) (B1)

    Had just a wee bit of time today to play around a bit more. On the m6600 with good cooling on its 8900m, I reverted it to the factory HD image with 8900m drivers, etc., and tested a basic overlock of the 8900m:

    Unigene Heaven Dx11, Tess off, 4x antistrophic, 4x AA, 1920 x 1080
    Stock speeds: 33.5 fps, 845 score
    800/1000 OC: 38.6 fps, 937 score
    Difference = +15.2%

    Unigene Heaven Dx11, Tess Normal, 4x antistrophic, 4x AA, 1920 x 1080
    Stock speeds: 24.4 fps, 616 score
    800/1000 OC: 27.7 fps, 698 score
    Difference = +13.5%

    Unigene Heaven Dx9, (no tess), 4x antistrophic, 4x AA, 1920 x 1080
    Stock speeds: 35.0 fps, 886 score
    800/1000 OC: 41.1 fps, 1035 score
    Difference = +17.4%

    Under those tests the card topped out at 83*c. Fans never went to 100%.

    Stress testing with Kombustor topped out at 84*c.

    Looks like a stable and solid OC if the cooling is properly functioning on the 8900m. I should also mention that this makes me all the more confident that there is little to no need to install the 6970m drivers unless your game's minimum spec check is refusing to recognize the card and let you play.

    Overclocking was done with Sapphire Trixx.

    Oh, and one last note: There was in fact no difference in visual quality between the drivers. It was my brain playing tricks on me. I ran the tests again with the 8900m drivers and they look just as good as with the 6970m drivers.
