Alright, i guess i'll have to try it sometimes, i got an Intel SSD in my G73 after all, i used the tool to clone to the SSD, but that was kind of a given that it would work. ;)

I just got a Precision M6600. Reinstalled Windows 7 onto a SSD. I found all the drivers except for Mass Storage Controller and Other Device. Anyone know which Drivers that I need to install?

I experienced a problem with my M6600 last night. I was watching a tv episode that was in flash video format streaming online. I had my Older Dell 210W PA-7E adapter charging durring the video. About 15-20 min in playing at full screen the video started studdering, so I minimized and my CPU cores were all at 100%, even the desktop was slow and studdering. I tried ending processes and that didnt fix it. I then unplugged the 210W ac adapter and the laptop came out of it! I plugged in my Dell 240W PA-9E, and it charged fine and played the video without problems. Anyone ever experience problems like this with a AC adapter? I know that 210W is plenty sufficient, maybe theres something wrong with it... :/

Have you tried to reproduce the problem?

My M6600 came with the 210W, which is not correct. The problem did arise 3 times durring the video. I even rebooted once and the cores were up very high and the computer was very slow and studdering for 3 or 4 min after the reboot. I have pretty much only used the 210W charging while the laptop is off. I really only have charged it around 5 times with the 210W. I bought a 240W a few weeks ago. I was going to use the 210W with a docking station but I don't think i will now! LOL. I have a wall Watt meter I will test the two ac adapters and see if something is wrong with the 210W. I have had no problems with anything before last night. Maybe the 210W is putting out a poor voltage or erratic voltage. I will see what I can do and report back.

Are you using the video drivers from Dell or nVidia/Intel?

Addendum: These kinds of problems can arise from using the generic version of the driver.

Thanks I found all the drivers I needed. The mass device turned out to be the memory card and the unknown device was the accelerometer for the fall protection.

Another question. Is there anyway to keep the keyboard backlit lighting on all the time?

My apologies - not intentional, there are ATI configurations included.

For example, I tried a generic nVidia Notebook Workstation driver (from nVidia site) a short time ago on my IPS DP and all seemed wonderful for video from youtube etc, except for FlashPlayer which pinked and greened the video extremely. Windows Chess 15 minutes in - completely pinked and stuttered my screen and a reboot wouldn't fix it. Had to cold start to stop it.

For others - Intels generic Graphic drivers wouldn't allow a DP brightness change on the FHD DP.
