hm..oh no what should I do now..take the old e6500 with the old architecture or the smaller e6410...hmm.

what`s with the design, it seems the e6510 needs a new chassis or?

They still seem similar, actually equal, in terms of GPU, ports etc.. With regard to CPU, I am not sure if a 14.1" notebook could deal fine with the heat of a quadcore + nvidia (I would be interested in hearing opinions).

I am really really happy that Dell kept 16:10 at least in E6410. It seems that Dell is following the more careful approach adopted by Lenovo, including 16:9 just in its 15" line instead of just accepting 16:9 in all lines like (stupid... IMHO) HP.

To be perfect, the E6410 should just have switchable graphic card :D Anyway, I am happy! :)

Lenovo claimed they wanted to maintain 16:10 across the board, but they were forced to switch in the 15" size but were able to offer both in the 14" (and will stick to 16:10 in the 17" size). Dell seems to mimic this, while HP abandoned 16:10 in the 14" size though it appears they could have held on there if they wanted.

glad I ordered a 6500 for myself recently after seeing the 6510 go to 16:9, the new cpu architecture doesn't really mean a lot to me right now anyways.

I would do the same if I wanted a 15" machine. I was waiting exactly to decide between E6400 or E6410 (I think 15", if 15.4" or 15.6", is too big for me).

The reason I say this is the E6400 and 6500 shared the processor selection, same memory and almost everything else aside from display.

Now the 6510 gets a Quad Core i7 and faster memory and much larger screen that is a pretty major difference if you ask me.

Maybe sweets to make people swallow better the 16:9 screen (HP sweet was USB 3.0 before even Intel schedule).

looks like i'll be sticking with my m4400 then. 14" dont have enough power for me and 17" is too cumbersome. i suppose its not horrible with a 1080 screen, but ugh- i want my WUXGA!!

I really don't think the 16:9 is a big deal in a 15" size. 90% of the users in my company will always be docked looking at a real monitor.

This would only effect those not using a dock, the for travel the 65xx is not all that small anyway. Point being is I don't understand why business people would want to stare at a small 14 or 15" 16:9 or 16:10 when you could have a normal display attached.
