Sounds like Optimus. Unfortunately, it will require hardware modification as well. Take a look at http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=458269 for details.

    http://forums.contractoruk.com/technical/52287-dell-precision-m4500.html

For those of you who have the M4400 and are thinking of an upgrade, you may be pleased to know that the M4500 comes out early March and according to the Dell guy I was sat on the train next to, it has a far superior processor and is a noticeable upgrade to the M4400..

Can't find any details on it on the web but his release powerpoint slide that he got from the dell network definately said scheduled release "early March 2010"

Will the M4500 be released with a 1440x900 screen like before? I really can't go higher than that.

Sounds like it won't be 16:10, so the resolution will either be 1366x768 or 1600x900.

Will it be possible to trade in an M4400 and pay some difference for an M4500?

I may be getting a little ahead of things here, but I will be deciding between M2500 and E6410. To start the comparison now, I've configured an E6400 and an M2400 the way I would want them and the prices are within $5 of each other. Is there any hidden advantage/bargain to the M2400 over the E6400 now or have I effectively configured the same computer with two different names? And anyone care to speculate on the expected differences between the E6410 and M2500?

The M2400 has a higher class GPU, that's pretty much it. I'd definetly go for the M2400 but when these were released the M2400 had a much larger premium over the E6400 AFAIR.....think it will be the same for the new versions. Still, they might give the M2500 more option as the E6410, who knows.

I also would get the M series instead of the E series 14.1"... But then I also think about heat and battery (plus price)... In the end I think the E series would be better choice (unless you are really into graphic intensive stuff and don't care about the extra price)
