Secret source... though I wouldn't doubt that the M4500 will also have 620M, 720QM, and 820QM as CPU choices as well.

So, anybody wants to get rid of their M4400? I'm willing to pay up to $900 minus what ever SSD / optical drive. But must have camera and at least WXGA+ resolution? ANyone?

DDR3 may not be a bottleneck, but DDR2 is quickly becoming a legacy part, contract prices for it are steadily rising. I rather get parts that are progressing in development, rather than being stuck trying to find a 8GB DDR2 upgrade down the road. DDR3 is the new standard that has years a head of it(larger capacities/densities to be released, price drops, process node to mature, etc.), plenty of longevity left in it's life cycle if you want to make a big upgrade later down the road. Whether I like or not, DDR2 is being phased out, perhaps this will be the last year of mass production for it.

Perhaps the new thinkpad's do not have switchable currently(as it is currently speculated), but down the road they should. Switchable graphics is a thing of the future as Dualcore was to single core cpu's. I'm a fan of it because of the efficiency to use lower powered integrated graphics for office/productivity while switching to discrete when required.

The other thing I could hope for, but highly doubt is a larger touchpad with multitouch capabilities, much like the latitude Z. But again, I doubt it, my guess is the E6410+E6510 will look aesthetically the same.

I don't disagree with you for future upgrades, besides the new chipset only support DDR3. I was just stating that there is no performance difference hence to me it really didn't matter in that respect. Supposedly, switchable graphics didn't yield as much benefit as it should in theory due to some sort of overhead (from some other thread/post in NBR).

Interesting, thanks for sharing that tid bit. I'll have to check it out. Hopefully they'll work out the bugs as it becomes more mature. That could possibly be a reason for Lenovo to not support it, much like other vendors when Intel's turbo memory was released.
