I have a source who can book parts an service who have access. Also heard from a sales rep today that the refresh is due late feb early march, same as HP.

Talked to a HP guy and even if the refresh is on the web, he said they wont start shipping until early march. So, my guess will be that both Dell and HP launch then!!

Yeah, it makes sense that both HP and Dell will release new laptops the same period.

That sucks, I'm not sure I can wait that long. I feel like my laptop is a ticking time bomb (see sig). W510 might win by forfeit.

Isn't Lenovo having issues too? I thought most orders won't be going through until Feb/Mar either.

They stopped selling the W510 (and others) for about a week. They are taking orders again and I think someone said they were about 15 business days out until orders are shipped (projected). The thing is, when Dell and HP open for business in a month or two, they will then be 2-4 wks out before shipping.

I feel ya, I almost ordered the T510 when it was on an awesome sale last week, but missed out. Then I almost got an E6500 but figured I'd wait for the refresh to get DDR3 and hopefully a better dedicated GPU(or even better switchable) if I just held out for just a month or two. I'm on an old and aging T41(the mobo fan was just replaced) and I'm trying not to dump more money on it than I have to.

Going to try and wait it out, I'm cautious with these launches.

I'd wait for a bit too. DDR3 really isn't important since it's never the bottleneck and there have been speculation that none of the current Lenovo notebooks will have switchable graphics since Intel lists the PM55 as not supporting it, despite the CPU having it...
