I loved Regatta Blue, and would have loved to see a covet orange E6400/E6410. :(

I hope they do colored lids...it could work, esp if they DID do a covet orange lid to go with the rubber keyboard surround/screen protector.

Colored lids weren't a big seller me thinks. Kinda sad.

Now I understand what you meant about the battery. The 2210 had that stick out of the bottom battery and you're right - it was was not great. I went back and looked at the pics of the 6220 and didn't see any battery in the pics. Could see the E dock connector though, so my guess is that the battery will go out the back so that the E dock can work. Don't see Dell making you remove your battery to dock it.

    Can it?
Ive never seen laptop with such back design that could be opened up flat 180 degrees.

PS. If E6320 is thinner than E6420/E6520 then it looks like really nice addition to business class laptops, not bad :D

Unless... maybe.. just maybe... Dell has a new slide battery that you add to the doc connector like the current E series. BUT, that battery has a dock bridge connector, so that you can have the dock + battery at the bottom on the dock with no problem.

Must have meant 'The E6320, E6420, and E6520 do open to 180 degrees.'

    Ok, I see.
I do find E6320 as very attractive machine, small enough, yet with built in optical drive.
Now lets see what Lenovo and HP will bring to the table, because at least based on specifications floating around Dell is really serious about their machines, they seem to be better built than current generation ThinkPads, given that ThinkPads dont have top magnesium roll cage anymore.

And all the rage about E6220 is because people want it to be versatile and flexible usage-patern wise, because some of us do hate limitations and lack of 180 degree screen is perceived as such :D

To me new Latitudes visually are something between classic ThinkPads and Edge series ThinkPads.

Yeah I love Regatta blue, one of these days I am going to swap the silver lid off the back of my E6410

It's been said many times in this thread, but yuck. I have no interest in these machines at all...they look like the junk you can buy at any big box retailer instead of a business tool. Why did Dell go to all the effort to design a new chassis instead of just updating the mainboard in the E6410 with the new architecture?

I half agree with you. They kinda did this with the D series, D620 -> D630 then all of a sudden the E series. Now I do like both, but the new E series as stated before, looks like it was designed by a teenager for teenagers.
