And on the second part - the mythical LG panel was also a TN. Know why everyone on the web says there is no such thing as an 8 bit TN panel? Because everyone on the web says all TN panels are 6 bit.

I would also like more verification about the specs of the panel, but right now i have the word of the people that built the m6500 to go on. Its the best info out there and until we know something else, its what i am going with. If they pulled the wool over my eyes, they did a great job because my bullsh!t detector usually is spot on. Maybe Samsung will give me an hour of an entire teams time? Right now I am going on the fact that people from Dell took time out at the end of their day for me and everyone on this forum. I am going to be grateful that Dell would do this first and foremost. Now I am going to work with them to solve the display issues that I am seeing.

Only promise from Dell was to work with me to fix the issues I am having. Don't know what the end result will be. The problem is not currently solved, but I will be working with them on it for at least the next two weeks.

I am sitting here browsing and learned that if you click on the touchpad to light it up, the finger swirl thing will allow me to swirl my finger clockwise or counter clock wise to scroll up or down web pages. Cool! Its the little new things that I love finding on my own.

Someone asked whether the hard drive light flashes with the SSD. It does.

Hdd light can be co figured in the Intel Matrix Manager
    I think.

On the touchpad - enable the multitouch gestures. Two finger scroll and 4 finger privacy mode are most used for me.

    Hi Bokeh,

No I do not work for IBM/lenovo

Right now Lenovo and I are going back and forth over an issue with the
W700. I had to catch a crash event on a screen captor program and did
I am in the middle of finishing it.

I need a New Workstation and I am just doing my Due diligence on the M6500
And I need to be positive that the M6500 will meet my needs 100%

Bokeh when you where at the computer repair shop, with your M6500
When the technician had the display apart did you take a Picture of the panel

What about swapping out the old panel for a new and better one?
I have an idea, Bokeh do you think that technician would swapping out the
old panel for a new with at least 300nit panel as an experiment, just to
see if it makes a difference in the overall output of color.

    Hi Bokeh,
Thanks for all of your posts.
Concerning the HDD light, I do not find the option in the Intel Matrix Storage Console? Could you please help me on this?

I think the HDD light issue is as follows: open storage manager, be sure to select advanced view, go to drive and right click (or left click), there is an option to enable HDD port light.

I don't see any check marks next to that option on mine and my light still flashes. Good luck!
