    For Nvidia Quadro FX3800m.
How to check if the CUDA driver is installed? I run one application (http://www.refractivesoftware.com/) and it says my display card is not CUDA compliant. But checking the nvidia site for the spec. It says it is.

    ;)

In my Agency, we already did some tests on a desktop. For the moment USB 3.0 (with a Western Digital external drive) is much fast and stable than with eSata port...

Now here's a tricky one, but someone here might know. So far I love almost everything about the M6500, but there is one thing causing distress. I was an early adopter of the Dell 30" and have the original 3007WFP with just the one input, a Dual Link DVI. The interfacing difficulty was anticipated thanks to M6400 owners which is that even though the graphics card internally has dual link DVI output, Dell saw fit to bring only single link DVI out to the dock; the solution is to use one of the DisplayPort outputs (one on the laptop, two on the dock) and an active DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI adapter. I bought the Sapphire adapter (but it's just a rebadged Bizlink).

I have the ATI M7740 graphics option. It drives the screen, but suffers intermittent flashes on the big screen when the output drops out altogether and then returns. It can happen every second or so, but sometimes goes as much as a minute without dropping out - so anyway, it's unusable. Quite often the laptop screen drops out when this happens, so it looks like the card is thinking that the big screen has disappeared beginning to adjust the display config and then it reappears. This disappearance and reappearance is probably due to the marginal function of the adapater and it's been widely reported elsewhere, although some people have made it work well. Anyway, I was wondering if it's possible to temporarily disable the plug-and-play-ness of the graphics card so that it just keeps on putting out the signals and doesn't try to reconfigure when it sees a change in the setup. Or is there some other solution (other than replacing the monitor or trying a different adapter)?

Make sure to update the BIOS ASAP if you have not already.

Speaking of Bios, boot into Bios A02 and see if you still have the glitching. This may help isolate hardware from software and drivers.

If its is glitching in the Bios, try unhooking all of the video cables, remove them from whatever routing you have in place, and inspect them. Make sure there are no bent pins or stress on the cable from sharp bends. Check the connector on the back of the monitor, is there a chance that it came loose? Reattach the cables without any fancy routing with as few bends as possible. Maybe its as simple as a short. If you have access to another Dual link capable monitor you could also rule out any monitor issues. If the monitor works correctly on the M6400, then it may also rule out monitor hardware issues.

If running Windows 7 or Vista, switch it to High Performance mode in the power settings.

I would try different drivers. I personally would try running Quadro Desktop drivers as well. You may have already tried this.

You might also try disabling Nvidia's PowerMiser functionality when docked. I honestly have no idea if it will help, but it is a function of the graphics card that changes dynamically. I also don't know what kind of effect it will have on the battery when the machine is undocked.

    I see the problem now....
I am deep into purchasing agents. I have two on my side and god knows how many on Dell’s side. I’m sure they know how to handle the paperwork but try to get them all on the same page!!!!!.
Our normal Dell agent is off on maternity leave, (congratulations). Our agent, was out on vacation or Furlough or something for 10 days.
I have tried to work with the dell agents directly but they only reply to Our agent, who was monitoring her email remote.
Don’t get me wrong, they are all nice people but the path of information is like that game of telephone.
I would bet that Dell sent that email and it sat in someone’s mailbox.

I think I’m going to go chop some firewood !!!!!

Thanks for giving me a place to VENT…..
