I remember there was discussion of the "Precision On" button earlier in the thread. Well I actually tried it out, and yes it works. Very quick access to your Outlook email, contacts etc. from a standing start of the machine being off or hibernated - much quicker than booting up. I can think of perhaps 10 occasions ever when I might have made particularly good use of this, but it's not exactly going to transform my life.

    Hi penguintree,

I think once we get used to it being there and using it, over time it will be a great addition to the M6500’s arsenal of must haves.

    Just my two cents

I tried it. I don't think 'Precision On' is sexy at all. Would rather get my email on the iphone. Just my $.02

    Hello Experts! :)

    I'm new on this forum and I'm a waiting customer who soon will be a proud owner of a M6500 (ATI + White Led + 8GB 1333, 64GB SSD + 500GB).

I have been reading about the Dell 64GB SSD disk it's relative poor performance compared to e.g. the newest Intel X25-M 160GB Gen2 SSD and standard HDD.

My question is. Are there anything I should be aware of if I want to exchange the Dell 64GB SSD with the new Intel X25-M 160GB Gen 2 SSD? Off course I need to reinstall the OS, but that is probably the best to do anyway - just to get rid of all the nice add ons...

    Thanks in advance

    A

I would install your OS on the fastest drive you have, and leave the slower one for data and scratch disks/cache.

All you have to do is install the new drive in one of the two bays and install your OS to it. Nothing fancy.

And no Office 2010 support makes it ever more worthless right now.
