New M6500 Discussion Thread

wait...you are going to ebay an m6500 that you haven't received yet?

 

You are going for a Lenovo? I've heard about a couple of those stinkpads melting when sitting overnight with the lid closed....what's up with that?

 

the uk units are shipped fron Poland.

the ssd hd are all 2.5" standard. The 2nd caddy wasnt in my M17x and had to order it as a part. Im expecting the same for thw m6500, but sometimes they add them in at lroduction so best to wait and see. if unlucky then order. either way the drives are standard sizes.

the rgbled screens are almost certainly awsome, but im colourblind so probably cant tell the difference heh

the ram is cheaper non-dell ofc. i bought 8gb dell (2x 4gb) and ordered another 2x 2gb paired off ebuyer for £80

Well if you disregard and ignore the fact that every decent system needs some tweaking and care (Like with Linux )
And just shove it running to your backpack or under a blanket - you might be surprised with the result
I buy guns when I need ones and know how to clean them and not just to fire from

And besides, my 8 yrs old "stinkpad" still going good with Karmic Koala with 0 hardware issues under extreme abuse.
And if the new line is 1/10 of the old IBM quality - I'm game.

 

Anyone know if i will receive a USB 3.0 with a system exchange? my current system doesn't have a USB 3.0.

 

Ok....since this was the m6500 thread I though you had one on order....'stinkpad'? I've never owned one...if I didn't get a Precision that's where I'd go.

Was looking (still looking) at M6500 as well, but my eyes just can't accept mirrors instead of screens. I might give it a try when an anti-glare RGB LED is offered or at least an AG FHD LED with 95% gamut....Otherwise - happy camper.

 

Don't worry lol. I already have the tracking number. It was shipped on Friday and is coming from the Poland Factory, so it should be with me early/mid week.

I have specified clearly in the ebay ad that I am in the process of recieving the daddy, I mean the laptop

I've got a m6500 on order...should have it within 2 weeks....it's no mirror....where are you getting that? My m4400 Precision is no mirror either....ah, wait...you talking about the Glass E2E on the Covet? then don't get a Covet....
