I removed it from the device manager (but I did not remove the driver) and rebooted. No message appeared. When I did a rescan in device manager, it appeared. But when I try to use it, I get the same errors.

I'm stumped. The card they sent me was marked refurbished. Maybe it's bad or maybe I really do need to reinstall Windows. I'd rather shoot myself.

    Thanks for your help.

I had the exact same problem where A03 I froze at Starting Windows banner on Windows 7. I had to move back to A02. It makes me wonder what is different about our hardware.

I think people with this problem need to continue to push Dell and see what could be causing it. One thing i noticed is that it never got to the point where it turns on the WiFi.

I just found the problem after searching for two days. When I uninstalled Zone Alarm, the 6300 worked perfectly.

Moral of the story - DON'T USE ZONE ALARM with x64.

Would it be possible to get an A03 hdr file for linux users? I've tried downloading the exe and running with -writehdrfile -nopause but when I try to flash with smbios upon reboot it says it's currupted. I also got an error booting into ubcd and running the exe file directly from DOS :(

Mitchellboy - I have the same issue with A03. By any chance is your processor a Q820? I am wondering what is causing this BIOS to fail when loading Windows, and thought maybe the hardware difference might be something like the processor we are using. Probably a long chance but I thought I would ask.

I tried to install ControlPoint System Manager on my machine with a Q820 and I get an unsupported processor error. I am wondering how common it is for people to order this laptop with the Q820. I am starting to get the feeling this hardware configuration was not fully tested.

Looks like they've removed BIOS A03 from the downloads page....we'll see an A04 shortly....;) With my m4400 they had at least one short lived BIOS like that...

Don't they have a download for RHEL? I thought they did last time I looked....I've just kept a small windows partition on my Vostro for that stuff...lame, I know....I'll check it myself...
