FWIW I have a newly built m6500 I got last week and no problems with the A03 BIOS update last night. Running AHCI and both my SSD and HDD are normal and operating just fine.

Can anyone tell me how to find the wireless card if I replace it myself?

    Thanks.

Covet came in today, along with a couple of 8GB sodimm kits and a Corsair C300 256GB drive. Needless to say, this has been the longest workday of my life, since I can't tinker with anything until I'm out of here. :D

Question: Is it possible to assign HD bays independently in the boot order (at least temporarily) in the bios given that I'm not running raid? Would like to be able to keep the OEM Dell Win7 installation drive available until I get the new OS installed on the second drive. I assume this is the case, but you never know.

    Thanks.

If you are asking if it is possible to keep your old OS on the second drive and boot from there, then yup, I did it too. My M6500 was able to boot from the secondary HDD Bay after I moved the Samsung SSD that came with my M6500 there while I fitted my new Intel X-25 SSD into the primary HDD bay and took my time to install Windows 7 since my M6500 came with XP installed.

for the 6300 win 7 won't find it (the driver)....after it's physically installed, boot up and windows will ask for a driver disk...point it the driver disk that comes with the card, win 7 will find the driver, install it and you'll be off to the races :) You'll be happy you upgraded...I promise...:) :)

Did that before I looked in the bios since I had the machine open to put the ram in.... after swapping the ssd into the primary slot and starting it up, it looks like that may have been unnecessary. Oh well, no biggy.

Just set the machine to AHCI and getting ready to install the os now.
