To be honest, K2100M if overclocked is better in games than M5100 or W5170M. I've proved that when I've swapped M6100 for K3100M. Kepler is overclocking really good and 75W consumption for K2100M is not the problem. As I've mentioned earlier, M5100 and W5170M can't go higher than 60W (physically). W5170M is very nice for the price I've bought it ($19 lol), but if it was possible to go with $200 Nvidia card - I would do that.

Probably, I need to write some post on reddit about how Dell is bad - mb they'll fix the BIOS to support newer Nvidia cards.

Yeah Kepler does clock pretty high. On my 755m I can hit 1300 core @ 1.2v from a stock of 1097c and its already an overclocked 750m anyways.

Really just depends on how the m4800 I buy is configured. If I can get one cheaper that has no GPU but the CPU I want then Ill likely do that. Then just swap the m5100 into that. In fact that would be ideal, I dont want the k2100m. I wouldnt have any machine to use it...

Anything in particular wrong with it? Granted I don't game much or OC, I've had no complaints playing Civ AE or mirrors edge or borderlands and a few others. Granted they're not the AAA titles, but it only ever hit full utilization for Civ on a widescreen monitor.

No nothing particular wrong with it, but for me its a side grade/downgrade since I have the y510p (SLI) My motivation in the m4800 is a couple of items.

    1 i7 4900mq/4910mq
Mostly because individual CPU's cost 300 less than the entire laptop
2 Install the 965m 4GB and OC it.

Otherwise I probably wouldnt invest in it.

K, I've finally found XMP compatible with my non extreme memory and successfully tested my SPD mods:) For testing purposes I'm using 1600Mhz XMP with lower timings.

Just to mention, Samsung stick were initially 1333Mhz sticks.

Have been playing around with XMP whole day. And there is some kind of sad news - this laptop don't want to go higher 1600Mhz. Good news that 1600 XMP work as they should. So I've decided, if I can't go higher, I'll go with lower timings. Currently I'm successfully running at 1600Mhz@9-9-9-24-1T and it's nice.

Also, XMP profiles could be applied to any RAM DIMMs. So, If you are running with 1333Mhz sticks, we could make them run at 1600Mhz and even, if you're lucky, at lower timings.

Higher speed and lower timings eh? Should help system responsiveness increase minimums a bit in CPU heavy titles.

Ive got 2 1600mhz sticks and 2 1333mhz sticks totalling 20 GB right now.

Send me your CPU-Z screenshots and I'll make XMP flashing guide for you:) Also, check in Thaiphoon if you have write access to the whole SPD space.

I think this is what your asking for?

Cant do any flashing at the moment but I will give it a shot after I wrap up for the night. Working on my essay right now for university.
