In a CCFL or normal LED screen, the screen is lit by a "white" light.
RGB LED has red, green and blue LEDs :)

I think those are quite close to mine. When I ran it I thought the same thing until i compared the scores to Laptops with the 9600gt in which the scores made more sense. I think the Vantage is running a different rating system not to be compared with 3DMARK normal. I will run it again later when i get some time to compair.

For people worring this laptop might be slow try doing so real work DV,HD and 2D/3D visual FXs... for a portable system I feel I could almost get rid of my desktop editing machine. (I'll keep it for a render box make some use of the dual dual cores) Its working great here although I don't do much gaming. My advice is buy what you need now don't waste time worrying about the next best thing or you will be waiting and worring a long time. I've basically been playing this tech game for 15 years every time a buy a computer i feel the same way and its the same old situation.

After 6 month's usage,I'm pleased enough with the M4400 to think that I'll probably keep it for a fair while......so just ordered an X9100 to replace my P8600,I will be very interested in the heat difference between the two and speed times with encoding and cosmoswork's....also whether a difference in games can be noted.

Bought one of the cheap "ES" version's from ebay for about 400 US,seller has perfect feedback and supposedly there is no difference from an OEM version apart from the cpu showing "ES" after the ID.

Was originally more attracted by the T9800,but the price difference wasn't that great, and I thought it might be easier to auction the X if thing's don't work out for my usage.

yea me too, i contemplated both the x9100 and the qx9300, i decided that the quad was too expensive and the x9100 wasnt worth the extra frm the T9600

ES or OEM doesn't matter to me as long as it does what it's supposed to,which from what I've read in feedback from the seller....they do.

I was pretty happy with 400,considering the OEM one through dell [upgrade over P8600] is over 1K US, where I am,not only do I have to pay nearly twice what US citizen's [after currency conversion !]for the actual notebook, but we get shafted even more so with upgrade's.

Don't think I would bother if I had originally got a T9600 like you guy's,but an extra 660mhz and double the cache should be noticable for me,we'll see anyway,I'll let you guys know how it goes.:)

yea thats true, but i dint expect it (es, off ebay) to be so much regardless. 400 bucks can get you a whole notebook! but then again i never tried searching for one.

i dont care if its an ES as long as it performs like an OEM chip, i agree with u there.

kind of lost my hopes of getting the QX9300 in a year for under 200 bucks now.... :(

normally i would never think of upgrading a notebook, but i think i might have to with this one. i need it to last 4-5 years as my main machine (i cant get a desktop, travel too much). unless of course i get a sudden windfall, but given the credit crunch i think thats unlikely lol
